- Katherine Wentworth: Pam, it's no secret that Mark wants to marry you.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: I know, but it's always been sort of... vague. Like, something in the future. But when he asked me today, it suddenly became... very real.
- Katherine Wentworth: But I don't see why it's so difficult. I mean, Mark is a wonderful guy. You get along together beautifully.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: I know.
- Katherine Wentworth: Besides, whether you wanna admit it or not... I think you're in love with him.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Well, certainly there are some things that I love about him.
- Katherine Wentworth: Oh, come on, Pam, don't play it down. Mark means more to you than that.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Maybe. But I keep thinking about Bobby. And Mark isn't Bobby.
- Katherine Wentworth: Pam, look, Bobby is the past. Now, you've got to get him out of your mind.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: It's so hard to do. You know, I don't think a day goes by that I don't think about him... and the way it used to be. We had lunch together. Did I tell you?
- Katherine Wentworth: You had... a date with Bobby?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Well, not exactly, it was kind of an accident. I was to have lunch with Mark and then he couldn't show up at the last minute, and I ran into Bobby at the restaurant... so we ended up having lunch together.
- [her confidant is quite perturbed]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: You know, Katherine?
- [with schoolgirl enthusiasm:]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: It was a lot like the lunches we used to have when we were first together. I mean, we just sat and talked. You know, and we ordered... and we talked, and... we had dessert and we talked.
- [chuckles]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: And we had coffee and we talked.
- [happily shakes her head]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: The day just drifted by.
- Katherine Wentworth: Sounds like you had a wonderful time.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: It was so nice. But then, when we were leaving, Bobby said something that... made me realize that he and Jenna Wade are sleeping together.
- Katherine Wentworth: That surprised you?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: It surprised me how much it hurts to hear it
- Katherine Wentworth: [scoffs] Pam, I don't know why you still carry a torch for him. Isn't it time to give that up?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: It's not that easy.
- Katherine Wentworth: Besides, you and Mark are sleeping together. Why shouldn't Bobby and Jenna?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: I'm sorry I brought it up. Let's just change the subject, okay?
- Jenna Wade: Hello.
- Bobby Ewing: My tenant.
- [gets up]
- Jenna Wade: No, no, no. Sit back down, I'm here on business.
- Bobby Ewing: What business?
- Jenna Wade: I have come to pay my rent.
- [puts down the envelope on his desk]
- Bobby Ewing: Your rent is not due for another week.
- Jenna Wade: No, but you better get it while you can. Cause when we run out of friends, I don't know who's gonna buy from my shop.
- Bobby Ewing: Jenna, the whole world's gonna buy from your shop. I have confidence.
- Jenna Wade: [chuckles] Well, so does Charlie. In fact, she has so much confidence in me she's off on one of her wild fantasies.
- Bobby Ewing: Charlie has fantasies?
- Jenna Wade: Mm-hmm. She had one after that first time we came to swim. About you and me getting married and her moving in to Southfork.
- Bobby Ewing: Well, that doesn't sound like such a wild one to me.
- Jenna Wade: Ah... right. But we had a great opening at the boutique and a terrific first couple of weeks...
- [sits back]
- Jenna Wade: and she's decided and she's decided I'm gonna make all of this money and I'm going to buy my Daddy's old ranch, I'm gonna get her a horse, I'm gonna...
- Bobby Ewing: Now, wait a minute... Suppose we do buy that ranch.
- Jenna Wade: Don't even think about it. A boutique is as much as I'll accept from you. And if she wants to ride, I'll take her up to Southfork.
