For a while, the series basked in the Eighties' aerobics craze. Victoria Principal's popularity made her a fitness icon. In this installment, Bobby buys Pamela an aerobic exercise gym, the best one in Dallas. In 1983, Victoria wrote 'The Body Principal,' a bestseller that, coupled with 'The Beauty Principal' in 1984 and 'The Diet Principal' in 1987, made her a leading celebrity exercise guru.
The title refers to the anniversary of J.R. and Sue Ellen's first meeting at the beauty pageant where J.R. was a judge and Sue Ellen the winning contestant. J.R. mentioned earlier that the pageant was in 1967, and he tells Sue Ellen their meeting was fourteen years ago to the day (which would mean this episode's events unfolded in 1981).
In the opening scene John Ross is seen playing with a toy space shuttle transport truck with NASA emblazoned on its side. J.R. is on the telephone discussing a 1967 videotape. In 1967 actor Larry Hagman was playing NASA astronaut Major Tony Nelson on I Dream of Jeannie (1965).
