The real plot intended
bkoganbing6 March 2016
The late 50s and early 60s was a period where a number of Asian women came to prominence on the big screen. France Nuyen, Nancy Kwan, Miyoshi Umeki, Miko Taka, and the guest star in this episode Nobu McCarthy who is married to Tod Andrews.

It's Andrews who hires Checkmate for one very strange reason. He's saying his wife McCarthy is planning to kill her lover James Hong. For the sake of curiosity alone Checkmate takes on this case.

For a guy who's doing the man's wife Hong and Andrews seem very chummy. One has to wonder just who's the one in danger especially since McCarthy seems the dutiful husband pleasing wife that is expected in her culture.

The answer here is discovered by master criminologist Sebastian Cabot and he has one of his best scenes in the history of the show with Anthony George on the telephone as they foil the real plot intended.

A strange, but good Checkmate episode.
