- Kris poses as a rich divorcée to find out why Rick Devlin has skipped parole. When the Angels proceed to lure him back to California, it turns out he is more dangerous than they first thought.
- The agency is hired by bail bondsman Harry Silvers, whose latest "bailer", Vic Devlin, bailed on him, despite the case against Devlin, a suspected thief, especially of jewels, being flimsy, meaning the high likelihood that he would have gotten off anyway. Silvers wants the Angels to bring Devlin back to Los Angeles - Devlin's recent movements showing that he is hiding out in Phoenix - so that Silvers can get his $50,000 bond back. As they cannot forcibly bring Devlin back as that would be kidnapping, Charlie suggests dangling some bait in front of him, namely attractive, wealthy and available women with lots to steal, Charlie unilaterally choosing Kris among the Angels as that bait. Kris' cover includes a Bel Air mansion, a vulnerable safe in the mansion being the ultimate bait Kris is to dangle in front of him. As Devlin is solely a thief, this undercover role is deemed relatively risk-free for Kris. What Charlie, Bosley and the Angels are unaware of is the reason for Devlin jumping bail was that he had just killed one of his former associates who threatened to turn him into the authorities, and that he had previously raped and murdered three of his former wealthy female marks, which makes Kris' job all of a sudden life threatening without she even knowing it, which could make her game of stringing him along sexually without getting at all intimate all the more dangerous.—Huggo
