[last lines]
Charlie Fairhead: [the A&E department has gone up in flames, and Duffy is in shock]
[to Duffy]
Charlie Fairhead: Shouldn't you be somewhere else? Come on.
Lisa 'Duffy' Duffin: [shakily] So much of our lives are here, Charlie. So much of us... and it's all gone!
Charlie Fairhead: [Duffy cries] It's not gone. The work doesn't disappear just because the building's gone, Duffy. Come on. Everything we've done still counts for something, you know.
Lisa 'Duffy' Duffin: [hysterically, walking away from Charlie] Oh, we're finished, Charlie!
Charlie Fairhead: [going after her, but Duffy resists him] Duffy. Duffy. Duffy, don't talk like that. The damage can be repaired. Come on. Come on. Mark my words, I'll have the builders in first thing in the morning, now stop...
Lisa 'Duffy' Duffin: [dismissively] Oh no, will you listen to yourself?
Charlie Fairhead: [not listening] They'll start putting it back together, come on.
Lisa 'Duffy' Duffin: Charlie, will you just listen to yourself? No one's going to throw money at this!
Charlie Fairhead: [quietly, trying to lead Duffy away from A&E] Come on.
Lisa 'Duffy' Duffin: [sobbing] Stop kidding yourself, Charlie. It's the end of the road!
Charlie Fairhead: [defiantly] It's not the end of the road, Duffy, not while I'm standing in the middle of it. They'll have to run my right over.
Charlie Fairhead: [pause, and Charlie sighs] Come on, Duffy. Come on, you're tired. Come on.
[Charlie walks away from the A&E with Duffy]
