I enjoyed "Deadly Heritage". However, it had one serious flaw. By the end of the episode, everyone seems happy and all is right with the world...but what about Jamal? The show begins with a rich woman telling she wants Cannon to locate her long-lost step-son. As a baby, he was apparently placed in an orphanage and it was, according to her, the result of an illicit affair between her husband and some bimbo. However, as Cannon investigates, he thinks she isn't telling the whole story--and the young man, who he locates, is also potentially hiding something as well. But, the lady abruptly pays off Cannon and closes the case after Cannon locates the guy--but Frank thinks there is MUCH more going on here. So, he decides to find a new client, Jamal (Glynn Turman) and take his case--as the case ALSO is related to the other case. Unfortunately, after Cannon and Jamal do some big-time buddy bonding (this is pretty funny and the highlight of the show), Jamal is nearly killed--and by the time the show ends, you STILL don't know if Jamal is even alive or if he'll recover!! So much for the buddy bonding with Frank! While the conclusion has some nice action, without any resolution to poor Jamal's plight, the show has to lose a point or two. Good but oddly incomplete.
