Outside establishing shot of the department store where Jan shops for a wig is the former home of The May Company in Los Angeles on the corner of Wilshire and Fairfax.
Marcia Wallace, who plays a salesperson, makes another appearance later in the series, in Getting Davy Jones (1971), as Marcia's teacher Mrs Robbins.
The shot of the department store is actually the back of the old May Co store, located at 6067 Wilshire Blvd. The store's front, at the corner of Wilshire and Fairfax, was very distinctive and easily recognizable. The building still stands and is owned by the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures; it has been designated a Los Angeles historical landmark.
