Marcia volunteers Carol to perform at a school event, Greg convinces Mike to go on with him as well.

A very entertaining show, Season 4 has one good episode after another. At first Carol does not want to go on, but Mike convinces her. She and Marcia dress as hobos and sing "Together, Wherever We Go" from the musical 'Gypsy". Florence Henderson gets to show off her musical comedy talents. Greg plays the guitar while Mike recites a poem, they decide to turn it into a comedy routine with Peter and Bobby offstage pouring water and feathers on them.

LET'S ALL PUT ON A SHOW!

Jack Donohue was the right guy to direct this fun episode, which may have borrowed from the PARTRIDIGE FAMILY. It's a high school musical, and Marsha and Greg are featured players. Of course, Greg can't sing as good as David Cassidy, but he does get to strum the guitar.

Donohue must have had fun with the gang here as he began his long career as a dancer and teacher, and got some good steps from Maureen McCormick. It also seems that Marsha has volunteered her mom to sing along, and Florence Henderson, an accomplished singer herself, is very good.

Mike (Robert Reed) also gets into the act, reading a special poem as Greg strums along, although that's when a little Brady comedy comes in for old times sake. Peter and Bobby are up in the rafters armed with feathers and water.

This gag had to have been borrowed from the Three Stooges.

Look for British actress Barbara Morrison as the event organizer slash teacher, Mrs. Tuttle. Barbara was on many sitcoms, especially on Lucille Ball's tv show. Interestingly, not too long after this episode she had a terrific role as the stern mother superior who meets up with escaped prisoners Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman in PAPILLON. Watch for it.

There's also a soap opera side bit as Alice tries to drag reluctant Sam to the show, although it would have been more fun if Alice was in the show!

SEASON 4 EPISODE 7 remastered ABC/Paramount dvd box set.
