Greg And Marcia Baby Sit The Younger Kids
Jimmy_the_Gent425 October 2020
Mike and Carol are going to dinner and a show and Alice is out with Sam, they decide to let Greg and Marcia be babysitters.

A funny Season 2 episode. One of the funniest scenes is Mike trying to teach Bobby not to open the door for strangers. Greg has some good scenes with the rest of the kids. Mike and Carol are worried during their meal. There is a good ending when they try to spy on the kids and Greg hears a noise outside.

GREG AND MARSHA LEND TACTICAL SUPPORT
tcchelsey23 October 2023
Long time series director Oscar Rudolph handled this episode, and got the right expressions from the kids on your typical Friday night at home alone.

Rudolph directed many sitcoms, though BATMAN was his pet project, with all the famous Pows and Biffs.

Today's problem; who handles the babysitting duties? There's some conflicts as Mike and Carol have plans for dinner and a show and Alice is hanging curtains at Sam's place. Greg and Marsha appear to be next in line for household duties... so why not give 'em a try?

Of course, before anyone goes anywhere, there's a lot of show prep. Mike trains Bobby on the right and wrong way to open the door to strangers, there's some concern about Cindy's sniffles and Alice begins to have second thoughts about going anywhere.

Everyone finally clears the house and the gang enjoys a typical weekend night inside; Jan yakkin' away on the phone while Bobby, Cindy and Peter are watching some sort of creature feature on tv (watch their faces as they're really into this one). Greg and Marsha keep watch --and then come noises outside. This is where it gets fun... without giving too much away, but relatable stuff to all us kids back in the day.

And what good would any scary movie on tv be without noises around the house, right?

Curious footnote. Alice is going to hang bright yellow curtains at Sam's apartment? Do you really think that's his color??? That scene always caught my eye, and still does after all these years.

Good stuff from SEASON 2, and you'll notice how the kids are beginning to grow. ABC/Paramount remastered dvd box set.
