Fun story about Mitch Vogel and an Irish Setter he purchases. Story is kind of a cross between a Lassie movie and Seabiscuit. Michael Landon gives a good performance. Worth repeated viewing.

A rather dubious title

In this episode young Mitch Vogel gets himself a pure bred Irish setter at a bargain price from dog trainer Don Knight. Then after he grows attached to it the
old owner William Sylvester comes along and demands it back only because he wants to kill it. According to Sylvester it doesn't meet the standards of this breed who are supposed to be bird dogs.
I didn't understand this one at all. Sylvester is one nasty villain, but why anyone would give credence to his title to the dog is beyond me. Anyway there's a contest with one of Sylvester's dogs tosee if Jamie's new dog has the right stuff.
Nice boy and dog story with a completely ridiculous premise.
