One of the funnier ones..

Warning: Spoilers
While my favorite Bewitched episodes lean toward those where a spell is put upon Darren, usually by his loving mother-in-law, this one pairs to very popular actors from countless episodes of 1960s television lore, Edward Andrews (see Twilight Zone episodes "You Drive" and "3rd Planet From The Sun') and Noam Pitlik of Get Smart fame. Andrews is one of those classic actors best know for his serious drama appearances, so it's nice to see him in a comedic situation, while Noam Pitlik is right at home here.

Pitlik plays the part of Ashley, a warlock with a long time crush on Samantha who longs to find out who wound up snagging her up, and drops in on Darren at the office. Larry and Darren are meeting a client (Andrews) in the dog food business (Gibbon's Dog Products, I guess) who judges his advertising firm based on the dogs they keep. Larry in typical fashion bamboozles into believing that Darren owns a dog but then and winds up describing a wild breed (part beagle, part sheepdog, with a goatee) and Ashley turns himself into such a dog in order to have some fun.

Fun it is when Ashley heads over to visit the Kravitz's and has some fun with Gladys, changing himself from one breed to another whenever she turns her head, you know the story..)

Eventually Ashley winds up helping Darren, with Samantha's help of course, win over the client and saves the day, and they all live happily ever after. Worth watching again and again.

good when gladys and abner appear--the rest is not so good

Warning: Spoilers
the good in this episode: --gladys and abner are hilarious in this episode--how gladys reacts to the dog and the dog plays tricks on her

the not so good in this episode: --ashley-the dog/warlock--has just played another warlock in love with serena some 5ish episodes previous. they really really needed a different actor. --larry tate claiming darrin has a dog, then creating a description of the dog that is impossible to get. larry would have known to describe a dog that nearly anyone could find/own if he really had to show it. season 5, 6 and especially 7 and 8 make larry tate to be really irritating and absurdly willing to agree with anything for money. he should lean that way--not so blatantly and obviously--it undermines the joke. --this episode is a bit too much like a season 2 episode which was much better--in part because of the great job richard dreyfuss did in that episode. still with a different dog/warlock actor and larry tate acting as intelligent as he is--this episode could have been a winner.
