While my favorite Bewitched episodes lean toward those where a spell is put upon Darren, usually by his loving mother-in-law, this one pairs to very popular actors from countless episodes of 1960s television lore, Edward Andrews (see Twilight Zone episodes "You Drive" and "3rd Planet From The Sun') and Noam Pitlik of Get Smart fame. Andrews is one of those classic actors best know for his serious drama appearances, so it's nice to see him in a comedic situation, while Noam Pitlik is right at home here.
Pitlik plays the part of Ashley, a warlock with a long time crush on Samantha who longs to find out who wound up snagging her up, and drops in on Darren at the office. Larry and Darren are meeting a client (Andrews) in the dog food business (Gibbon's Dog Products, I guess) who judges his advertising firm based on the dogs they keep. Larry in typical fashion bamboozles into believing that Darren owns a dog but then and winds up describing a wild breed (part beagle, part sheepdog, with a goatee) and Ashley turns himself into such a dog in order to have some fun.
Fun it is when Ashley heads over to visit the Kravitz's and has some fun with Gladys, changing himself from one breed to another whenever she turns her head, you know the story..)
Eventually Ashley winds up helping Darren, with Samantha's help of course, win over the client and saves the day, and they all live happily ever after. Worth watching again and again.
