This plot was recycled as "Samantha on Thin Ice (1972)" (broadcast January 29, 1972), from piano playing to ice skating.
Samantha plays "Born Free", a popular song with music by John Barry, which was written for the 1966 film Born Free (1966) and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Fritz Feld (Maestro Ferranini) and Jonathan Harris (Johann Sebastian Monroe) had previously worked together in Lost in Space (1965).
When Maestro Ferranini storms out of the Stephens house, he slaps his hand to his mouth and makes a popping sound. This was the trademark used by Fritz Feld for decades in parts he played as waiters, maitre d's, and aristocrats.
In previous seasons, The Stephens had a piano in their living room. So there was no need to rent a piano.
