This would be Alice Ghostley's final appearance as Esmerelda.
Thad Geer plays the male hippie with the female hippie (Renee Tetro.)
Thad acted opposite his father, Will Geer (George Washington) in the First of this two-parter.
Thad was in "Eight Is Enough," a two-parter with his dad, too. ("Yes Nicholas, There Is a Santa Claus: Part 1" and Part 2)
The plot is almost identical to the visit which Benjamin Franklin paid to the Stephens' residence in Samantha for the Defense (1966). It ends with both historical figures saying the same line: "although I shall continue to be [George Washington/Benjamin Franklin], for I can be no other, I will not be that untimely gentleman in your gracious [presence/company]."
The title is a parody of the cliché tourist sign that "George Washington slept here".
