A recurring theme in the long series was somebody trying to rob the Clampetts -- this time around an infamous cat burglar! The hilarious double-take here is Uncle Jed, Granny, Ellie and Jethro think some guy is trying to steal all their cats???

Best of the Best is Jethro's crazy traps set around the mansion, such as hidden rope which will snatch the burglar by his feet and hang him upside down! By the pool, Jethro rigs a giant wood box which will fall on the bad guy. Must see stuff.
Special guest star is Norman Grabowski, playing Bernie. Norman was is many movies and tv shows in a wide variety of offbeat roles. He was famous in Hollywood as a custom car designer. Also look and listen for Earl the Rooster, who appeared in 13 episodes. Earl was raised by Frank Inn, the master animal trainer of Hollywood.
Classic scene has Mr. Drysdale staying at the house to keep watch for the burglar. Jed tells him to stay up as long as he likes, to about 8 or 9 PM?
