As the newsstand scene opens with the newsstand hawk proclaiming Bruce Wayne's impending nuptials, the magazine board behind him displays two 'Arnold Nooper' detective comics. These were fake comics used as props in many TV shows as early as the 1959 CBS comedy The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis (1959). The same Arnold Nooper 'comic book' can be seen in the magazine rack of Dobie's father, Herbert T. Gillis' grocery store.
In this episode the Joker has a vehicle, aptly referred to as the "Jokermobile." It started life as the "Mongrel T" built by George Barris and appeared with Elvis Presley in Easy Come, Easy Go (1967).
Guest stars Lawrence Montaigne (Mr. Glee) and Phyllis Douglas (Josie) enjoy the rare distinction of having appeared in two episodes of Star Trek (1966). Montaigne appeared in Balance of Terror (1966) (as Decius) and Amok Time (1967) (as Stonn). Douglas appeared in The Galileo Seven (1967) (as Yeoman Mears) and The Way to Eden (1969) (as Girl #2, one of the "space hippies").
