Carolyn Jones well cast as a diamond digger
kevinolzak8 May 2016
"Marsha, Queen of Diamonds" features THE ADDAMS FAMILY's Carolyn Jones well cast in the title role (first mooted for Zsa Zsa Gabor), supported by Estelle Winwood as her potion brewing Aunt Hilda, and veteran heavy Woody Strode as her Grand Mogul (at age 83, Estelle was the oldest actress to appear on the series). Marsha depends upon love inducing darts to ensnare men to do her evil bidding, with Batman and Marsha conjuring up memories of Stan Freberg's 1951 recording "John and Marsha" in their mutual exchange! While Batman possesses the will power to repel the spell of love, Robin isn't so lucky, giving Marsha the upper hand in her ultimate goal of acquiring the precious Bat Diamond that powers the Batcave. Since Batman has made a sacred vow that no stranger shall ever enter the Batcave, Marsha suggests that a wedding is in order, as his wife would certainly not be a stranger. As the Caped Crusader struggles to say two familiar words, we have to wonder if he misses or Mrs!
