- Tagg Oakley: Aw, I think I can afford a pound of liquorice, a big bag of jellybeans, assorted, of course, so you and Lofty can have your choice. And one of those big chocolate bars. They cost 20 cents.
- Annie Oakley: Tagg, that's the first sense I've heard since you started talking. I wish it were common sense.
- Banker Henry Lormier: Counterfeit. Absolutely worthless.
- Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: And you have no idea who got into your vault and replaced the real bonds?
- Banker Henry Lormier: Not the slightest. Like every bank in the country we get our bonds from the District Distributor. In our case, the Mason City Bank where Mr Brown is President.
- Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: I see. And nobody but you opens the bond drawer in the vault?
- Banker Henry Lormier: No, I keep the key with me all the time.
- Tagg Oakley: Just the same I want to put my dollar in your bank.
- Banker Henry Lormier: Tagg, right now, that's the sweetest thing anybody could say to me.
- George Pollard: I don't know how you can be so calm about things with Annie Oakley tracking down those counterfeit bonds. We're in for trouble and plenty of it.
- Tyler: I'm not backing down for any blonde female and neither are you two.
- Annie Oakley: Listen, friends. You know what happens when cattle stampede. An awful lot of them get hurt. The same can and will happen here.
- Bertha Davis: I've worked so hard since I lost my husband and my son.
- Annie Oakley: I know that. You've been very brave and I know things are gonna work out for you.
- Bertha Davis: How can they? That cattle loan I've got with Hyde Simmonds comes due the day after tomorrow. You know Hyde, he ain't gonna wait a week. He'll have my whole herd over at the slaughterhouse.
- George Pollard: Let me tell you something, Mr Tyler. Banks aren't the only buildings with bars on the windows.
- Tyler: You don't say.
- George Pollard: Yes, I do say. I also say I'm getting out.
- Tyler: [Tyler draws his knife down Pollard's waistcoat, all six buttons shear off one at a time] Just when did you say you were quitting, Mr Pollard? And you, Hadley?
- Annie Oakley: This is only a woman's intuition but I think the accidental death of Mr Hotchhiss should be investigated. In Denver.
- Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: Annie, this is only a man's hunch but I think you're trying to send me there.
- Annie Oakley: But you'll love it in Denver, Lofty.
- Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: Not when I'm worried about you here.
- Annie Oakley: Well, you hurry on back. And I promise to stay out of trouble.
- Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: You know, for you that won't be easy.
- George Pollard: Happy to know you, miss, son. I'm Mr Hadley's hired hand. Why don't you go inside and sit a spell while I water your team.
- Annie Oakley: That's very kind of you, Mr Tyler. Look at all that hay.
- George Pollard: Yeah, y'know like the folks say, make hay when the sun shines
- [laughs]
- George Pollard: . Well, we had a mighty hot summer.
- Bertha Davis: I'm crossing the border. You won't have to worry about me talking.
- George Pollard: If you ever do talk, you never will again. My knife works just as well on throats as it does on harnesses.
