The biggest 18-minute-old baby ever
FlushingCaps3 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Amos narrates some short memories of various fights George (aka Kingfish) and Sapphire have had, complete with the repeat scene where she walks out on the Kingfish and this big picture he likes falls off the wall.

Then we hear that last Thursday she left again, only this time stayed away. We see Kingfish truly worried about her, and, if she is alright, wondering if she's ever going to come home. Then one day, Lightning spots Sapphire on the street and follows her to an office in a building. He tells his friend what he saw and Kingfish and Andy go and discover it is a doctor's office-an obstetrician. What the men don't know is that Sapphire was trying to get a job taking care of the doctor's little baby.

Having no club what sort of doctor it is, Kingfish phones the doctor to make an appointment for himself. Once he knows, he is about to pass out, thinking "I'm going to have a baby!"

George decides to reform-getting a job and everything to become a good father. He still can't get Sapphire to talk to him-shielded by her mother-but he is sure he can bring her around if he gets a chance. One day, he and Andy are following her as she goes into a hospital. Not knowing she was there to pick up the doctor's baby, they are convinced that it's "time" for the baby to be born.

About 15 minutes later, Sapphire emerges with a baby carriage and the 18-month-old son of the doctor. Andy and Kingfish are amazed that she only had to be inside the hospital such a short time.

Then we get to a scene that today would land Sapphire in jail. In Harlem, no less, she goes inside a drug store and leaves the baby and the carriage on the sidewalk! This gives George and Andy a chance to see the baby close up. We get some sweet scenes where George is so taken at the thought that this is his little son. And they are both amazed at "the biggest 18-minute-old baby" they ever saw. The kid even says a couple of words to them.

Kingfish finally gets Sapphire to come talk to him. Happy that he's turned a new leaf, she agrees to go back to her mother's to pick up her things and returns home, although as she's leaving, she wonders what he meant by saying he was fixing up the extra bedroom "for the three of us." The ending scene is a bit of a surprise that I'll leave for you to see.

This was the funniest episode I've seen so far in this series, out of about 10 on my DVD set. George once again showed us how much he cares for his wife, as he was truly miserable when she left. I give this one a 9.
