What a nutty old man!
planktonrules15 April 2021
Elliot has been dating Enid for some time. However, he's shocked to hear that she's been two-timing him with a much older man named Cyril. Why would she want to see this old man? Well, Cyril knows how to treat her like a lady....much more so than Elliot. Still, when Elliot learns about Cyril, Enid does agree to break it off with her older boyfriend. A bit later, Elliot goes to visit with Cyril to discuss this...and Cyril's actions are surprising to say the least!

This is a very good episode with a very surprising twist. Add to that Murray Matheson's lovely performance as Cyril and you have the recipe for an excellent and funny episode.

"Suppose we just drink to...honor."

Warning: Spoilers
Eliot Gray (Scott Marlowe) should have been on his guard in this episode. I would have been suspicious under the same circumstances when Cyril Hardeen (Murray Matheson) invited him down to the basement for a drink. He also probably should have said sayonara to his two-timing girlfriend Enid (Joyce Meadows), especially when he found out she was involved with a man over thirty years older than she was. Not out of the question of course, but still rather odd. This story ended with a classic frame-up that put Eliot on the defensive big time, with Cyril paying a rather dubious price to win Enid back for himself. The wry smile between Cyril and his butler Joseph (John Indrisano) tells you all you needed to know about the ruse they pulled on poor Eliot, but to my mind, they actually did him a big favor.

Enid and Two Jerks
Hitchcoc29 May 2021
This is a forgettable episode. A younger woman who isn't much of a prize is hooked up with Elliot. He is a controlling jerk. She reveals that she has been involved with a senior citizen who has shown her kindness. Elliot goes to talk to the guy with some severe results. Why Elliot wants her back, I don't know. I didn't care for anyone in the episode.

Five stars....

Warning: Spoilers
....for the fight scene. Typically, it's two men fighting over a woman. Atypically, one of them is old enough to be her father; the other one about her age. (At least, back then people in their late fifties were supposed to be old, I guess. The actor looked about seventy five, but I guess they thought that would be pushing the envelope). Anyway, the fight-I've never laughed so hard in my life. Obvious air punches, the guy on the losing end staggering about dramatically and turning a back somersault at one point, overly dramatic music-I was cracking up. The rest...well, let's say that the lead guy isn't too bright, because if he'd had any sense, he would have seen what happened coming a mile away. Young and strong trumped by old and crafty-a variation on a theme we've seen played out here over and over again. A little well-worn to me, though not one of the worst ones.
