This guy is not french
antoninoanais17 February 2022
In response to studioAT, I am french and this not only is a really rude cliché (that doesn't help the french-american relationship), but also there is no way this guy is french, the whole episode hurt my ears. I bothers me so much when they emphasis the accent but keep a perfect grammar and vocabulary.

My Kinda Guy

I'm not sure what the French would think of this episode, the foreign exchange student doesn't exactly come out of this looking good.

It's a decent episode, without ever being great.

Disappointing

Warning: Spoilers
Seriously, you would think that a pastor who understands addictions would understand boundaries but obviously not when he agrees at the last minute to host a foreign student in his home without first even discussing such an important matter with his wife first. Does he not care to show any discernment and ask questions and get background information on the student first? We're talking about inviting a complete stranger into your home where your job is to protect your children. How did they know he was trustworthy? That he didn't have weapons or drugs in his bags? They didn't even know he smoked. And the mother is just as bad as the dad for having no boundaries and telling her husband no without them having time to do more background homework on the student. Any parents with half a brain that cared about their children would do that. Certainly not doing something like that at the last minute. And I love how the mother let's Simon get on the students laptop without confirming he had permission and with no supervision. What if there was p*rn on there that Simon would have had access to? The mother was not thinking one bit in this episode.

Guy is the only normal person in this episode

Warning: Spoilers
The episode opens with, as usual, the dad radically changing the household dynamic by bringing in a complete stranger and also without consulting his wife. Guy turns out to be pretty normal though, perhaps the most sensible person ever introduced on the show so far. The Camden family violates his privacy and talks trash about him from a distance of less than 20 ft with open doors in between. I am surprised he lasted 3 days living with these maniacs. On the other hand, guy did groom the girls, and then the girls apologized to him for leading him on. That was pretty weird and on point for this show.

Sex Factor 7 out of 10: some serious softcore vibes when Eric and the mom meet on the internet for some cybering. The conversation was gross. At one point he refers to wet clothes sticking on her body and "the full Monty" and there are children watching all this in the chat room. The internet was pretty sick though. It was pre-asked jeeves, which was cool to see.

Ruthie was her sociopathic self and a terror, rooted through Guys stuff, showed no remorse, then manipulated her brother into smoking.
