The title refers to a feature of architecture, a concave shape combined with a convex shape, known as an ogee. "Ogee" is also the name of the magazine that Nick and Wani publish in the series.
In the pub scene for Nick (Dan Stevens) and Leo's (Don Gilet's) first meeting, "time" is called at the end of the evening by the real landlord of that pub, the Windsor Castle pub.
The Henry James novel that Nick (Dan Stevens) and Wani (Alex Wyndham) try to turn into a movie is "The Spoils of Poynton" from 1897. The producer with whom they meet complains about the story's unhappy ending and the name of the main character, Fleda Vetch.
The series was regarded as a flop.
