Not bad, but I wanted more...
This is a "making of" featurette that was included on the DVD for BRIDE AND PREJUDICE--a truly international modern retelling of "Pride and Prejudice" with Indian, British and American characters! I really enjoyed the feature film and watched this short film hoping it would give additional insights into the film--such as background and inspiration for the film. Well, after it was finished, I was glad I watched this short but also felt a bit disappointed. Like many similar films, this one didn't give all that much background information and seemed more like an extended commercial--encouraging you to see the film. While I understand that this is the point of such a film, I also felt there could have been more--more information, more context for the film and a closer look into who the actors were. I already knew that Aishwarya Rai was the biggest star in India, but information about the male lead (Martin Henderson) and the director (Gurinder Chadha) was scant. In fact, when I researched on my own, I found out all kinds of interesting stuff that probably should have been mentioned in this short. Henderson, who plays an American, is actually from New Zealand and was famous for appearing in soaps and Chandra was born in Kenya and raised in the UK, but there's still more...more background that could have been included.
