Every once in a while a horror film comes along that succeeds at what horror films are supposed to. .Dig deep into the psyche and burn itself into the memory of the viewer. Delirium and the Dollman, with it's pig heads, dolls, and fairytale gone psychotically wrong imagery does exactly what it sets out to do. It finds childhood fears and drags them into the light kicking and screaming. A little girl is forced to confront a severely twisted man in a Felliniesque setting. Alice in Wonderland/Hell. It's both brutally original and subtly haunting. Andrew Lobel's excellent short film leaves you wishing it were feature length. It's disturbing, nightmarish, surreal and one of the best horror films I've seen this year.
