I started to watch this show just by casually changing the channels. I find it great to see young men pick faith as a life calling and a career. I believe maybe one of the men will make it.
But what disappointed me was Steve. Steve was invited to be a foreign missionary in Guatemala. Now I am from Guatemala and i was so upset at the opportunity given to him. Today the Catholic Church has been given a bad name with issues such as homosexuality and abuse. Priests in Guatemala are no strangers to this and I have met priests in Guatemala from Europe who have gone there and tried to make a difference. Steve on the other hand goes to Guatemala, not even trying to learn the language to communicate to the people, whining about the smells and looks of his surroundings. If Steve actually looked into Guatemala and the history of the faith he would actually learn how local indigenous people mixed their indigenous faith and the catholic faith. He would learn how predominantly one country follows one religion. He would appreciate his experience if he stopped complaining!
