Cara Mund made Miss America history Sunday night as the first contestant from North Dakota to take home the crown in 97 years of the competition.
The 23-year-old from Bismarck wowed the judges with her jazz performance to Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel” and her responses to tough interview questions — including one on President Trump’s decision to pull out of the Paris Climate Accord. Here’s five things to know about the big winner.

25 June 2009. The biggest news story of the day was the death of Michael Jackson. Then began the fanzines remembering Michael as the great singer/songwriter he was. But who can ever forget the dance? The moves, the poses? So many have tried to emulate but Mj is still Mj. Sabbir Khan’s Munna Michael is an underdog story of dreams, passion, dance and most importantly the desire to bring Mj back to life on stage. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Tiger Shroff and Nidhhi Agerwal play the lead actors and just like the combo, the album is exactly the sort of package we expect from the many music directors involved with the album. With Kumaar penning most of the lyrics, each singer, music director and lyricist involved has looked to remind Indian audiences of the magic that is Michael Jackson.
So, we must begin with an intro for Munna that would fit Mj.

Kendall Jenner, Bella and Gigi Hadid and Kaia Gerber all found supermodel stardom after being born to famous parents, and are leading the way on today’s runways and magazine covers. And now, 18-year-old Paris Jackson is rapidly climbing the ranks in the “model kids with famous parents club,” first, posing in a series of photographs during a fashion magazine shoot in Paris, and now sitting front row at Givenchy’s menswear fall/winter 2017-2018 at Paris Fashion Week, where Kendall and Bella both starred on the runway.

You can try to survive the chaos of Black Friday from your own couch now that Dead Rising 4 is available for the Xbox One and Windows 10 from Capcom, but the crowds Frank West faces are more interested in his flesh than the great deals at the Willamette mall. Injecting holiday cheer and palpable fear into the new Dead Rising game's soundtrack is Oleksa Lozowchuk, and we caught up with the composer and soundtrack producer for our latest Q&A feature.
Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Oleksa. You’ve created music for the Dead Rising franchise in the realms of video games and film. How do you balance bringing something new to the table while building upon the music that you’ve already created for the franchise?

See me! Feel me! Touch me! That’s a lyric from the Who's Tommy, but it also describes the sensations that swim in your head when you look at photos by Harry Benson. There's music in them, as well as spontaneity and heat; they're alive in ways still camera images rarely are. That vitality is an essential part of the great Scot himself, a livewire from Glasgow who just turned 87 without losing the sharp burr on his tongue, the green pocket squares that dot his jackets or the witty glint...

The Weeknd’s rise through the ranks of pop has been something to marvel at. After breaking onto the scene with his trilogy of R&B-esque mixtapes in 2011, The Weeknd, née Abel Tesfaye, managed to create something promising with his debut full-length, Kiss Land, before changing up his game entirely with its follow-up, Beauty Behind The Madness.
Beauty essentially did everything that Kiss Land didn’t, but also improved upon the things it did well. More importantly, it sent his sound toward new heights with his refined take on pop. Unapologetically candid, brooding, and of course, catchy as all hell, Beauty showed a side of The Weeknd that was only ever touched on previously.
If that album was his journey in dealing with the highs and lows of his new found fame, his new record is all about shifting the fame that has made him a superstar into becoming a full-blown monster.

Hey, here's something that will make you feel old! The Lion King is turning 20 on Sunday. The Disney masterpiece roared (shh, let us have that one) into theaters on June 15, 1994, where it would "Hakuna Matata" its way to becoming the second highest-grossing film of the year, earning an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and two Grammys in the process. Although The Lion King is now seen as a centerpiece of Disney's so-called Renaissance period, it had modest origins, and even those involved on the project believed it would be a tough sell. "The pitch for the story was a lion...

(Cbr) TV Urban Legend: B.A. Baracus never actually said “I pity the fool” on The A-Team. "The A-Team" was a fascinating hit TV series in that it was absurd even for the era in which it aired (1983-1987). The cartoon violence on the program was evident when, in the first episode, a jeep carrying soldiers pursuing the team flips over spectacularly and crashes (it’s an impressive enough shot that it was used in the opening credits for pretty much the entire run). Voiceovers, of course, quickly assure viewers that both the driver and passenger were fine after the crash. That was "The A-Team" in a nutshell: spectacular violence but people almost never actually got hurt, despite the A-Team’s extensive use of explosives and automatic weapons. "The A-Team" was about a team of soldiers who were wrongly convicted of a crime they didn’t commit in the...

Judith Hill had to tap into emotions that were still raw with her performance on "The Voice." Her coach, Adam Levine selected Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel," which hit close to home. Hill was a back-up singer, and featured performer, with the King of Pop.
Hill told Levine that she worried that people might think she was taking advantage of her connection to her former mentor, but Levine told her that this was her paying tribute to a man who meant so much to her personally.
While it was still an emotional moment, Hill was able to channel those feelings into her performance, gaining rave reviews from the judges. Even Carson Daly had words of encouragement for her after she sang.
"It almost conjured the same emotions you’re feeling right now, just hearing the song," Usher said. "I miss him. I miss him so much.

Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Usher and Shakira get tons of good press for their work as coaches on The Voice — and rightfully so. Even their shtickiest moments (like Adam and Usher hiding behind their swivel chairs during Shakira’s impassioned defense of one of her artists) are fun, frothy distractions from the stresses of our workaday lives.
Once in a while, though, it might be nice to hear them drop their shiny, happy superlatives and offer some brutally honest feedback to the wannabe singing stars in their midst.

"The Voice" is ready to eliminate another two artists on Monday (May 20), as the Top 10 take the stage in Hollywood to fight for America's vote. With coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Usher and Shakira unable to save any more of their artists, its up to the singers themselves to earn advancement. Who will make it through?
First up, it's Team Blake's Holly Tucker. Tonight's she's going back to her gospel roots with "How Great Thou Art." Her thoughts about how she knows not everyone will identify and agree with all of her beliefs, but still wants to present her whole self are very mature, I think. She sounds incredible on the song, but I feel like I'm in church while listening -- not a feeling I'm really looking for on a show hosted by Carson Daly. Her base audience will eat it up, though. One of the top runners on season four of ‘The Voice’ was faced with a huge challenge, when her coach chose a song for her that hit extremely close to home.

One performance even caused Blake Shelton to “wet his pants,” according to Adam Levine!

New Orleans — Applause and approval greeted Stevie Wonder as thousands stood for hours to hear his pre-Super Bowl concert that also featured guitarist Gary Clark Jr.
Escorted on stage late Saturday by his daughter and backup singer Aisha Morris, Wonder performed several of his hits, including his opening song, "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)."
That was followed by "Master Blaster," Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel," and Wonder's own "Higher Ground."
The 62-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member headlined the event outdoor event held near the Wyndham Riverfront Hotel on the eve of Sunday's game between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers.
Thousands packed a tent set up on a parking lot across the street from the hotel to hear Wonder, Clark, R&B artist Janelle Monae and DJ Martin Solveig.

Britney Spears celebrated her 31st birthday yesterday, which means that every single one of us is so old. But guess what isn't old? These five underrated Britney songs that I find myself playing more than any of her singles. Feel free to contribute your favorite B-sides below, but I think this is a pretty divine quintet. I particularly love the last one and it's gurgly weirdness.

To be honest, I didn't know this had a music video until last night, but "Born to Make You Happy" is surely the first under-the-radar Britney track that stands the test of time. Rihanna, "Unapologetic" (Island Def Jam Music Group)
There's something about Rihanna. And her producers.
The singer's new album – her seventh in seven years – is like many of her other releases, full of songs that are catchy, fun and addictive. Her albums are almost like listening to a "Now" compilation disc.
"Unapologetic" is no different. It's full of future hits, and not a single miss.
"Phresh Out the Runaway," which kicks off the album, does so with a bang. And there are more: "Pour It Up," which has Rihanna sounding like a female version of The-Dream, is appealing; "Jump" samples Ginuwine's "Pony" – and it's surprisingly good; and the David Guetta-helmed "Right Now" is European-flavored and upbeat.
Even Rihanna's duet with her ex Chris Brown on "Nobody's Business," which samples Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel," will make you move your feet. Lyrically though, the song is somewhat dismissive.

Chris Brown and Rihanna's new duet "Ain't Nobody's Business" is, indeed, "Unapologetic." The song has arrived in full a few days out from Rihanna's new album release, and the pair would like for detractors of their rebudding relationship to butt out. Using a famed line from Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel," they both sing on the refrain: "It ain’t nobody’s business / Just mine and my baby." The sound, overall, is reminiscent of Mj, which must've thrilled the pants of Chris Brown, a longtime disciple who has never shied away from the comparison. It's helmed by The-Dream. With...

Rihanna is set to drop her seventh album on Nov. 19, and though only one year has passed since her last album, "Talk That Talk," there is a steady buzz surrounding "Unapologetic." Chalk up some of that hype to a duet with Rihanna's maybe-boyfriend, Chris Brown.
Rihanna tweeted a photo of the "Unapologetic" tracklist for fans on Tuesday, confirming a collaboration with Brown for a track titled "Nobodies Business."
The R&B singer gave fans another surprise when she tweeted a teaser clip of "Nobodies Business," E! News reported. The video Rihanna sent out has since been removed from YouTube.
"Nobodies Business" channels Michael Jackson with a line from "The Way You Make Me Feel," and has a decidedly 80s/90s vibe.

The thought of me even writing this comes as weird… unless you’ve just been allowed to use your dad’s PS3 or you were in cryogenic sleep for the last 10 years, a publisher known as Rockstar Games has been haunting & rewriting the lives of millions. Yes! How? Well, not by preaching but by dreaming. A dream so big that the spiritual escape the product gave instated the title in the halls of Pop Culture history. Maybe Michael Jackson tops the list, but even if Niko Bellic can’t moonwalk (Dr. Ski Z. Frenn can!) he still kicks some serious a** with his thick accent and dodgy barnet.

Admit it: You've seen "Dirty Dancing" more times than you'd care to admit. You're drawn in by its blend of music, dance, nostalgia, and romance between macho-yet-tender Johnny (Patrick Swayze) and awkward-yet-brave Baby (Jennifer Grey) every time it's on TV. Which is often: it seems to have been running on endless loop since its release 25 years ago, on August 21, 1987. Still, as much as you love "Dirty Dancing," you may not realize how often the production skirted disaster, from almost not being made at all, to almost not casting Swayze, to almost cutting a key subplot to please a squeamish potential corporate sponsor, to its catastrophic test screenings that almost led the film's backers to let the film go unreleased and write it off as a bad investment. How did all that trauma lead to moviegoers having the time of their lives? Read on. 1. Writer/producer Eleanor Bergstein based the story on her own childhood.

I’ve started and stopped, deleted, began from scratch, it must be a year end list. I let these things stress me out far more than I should. I have a real problem with ranking films. I feel as, every film I watch, even some bad ones, are enjoyed at different levels, for different reasons. It seems wrong to me to slap an arbitrary number next to it. How do I rank my enjoyment? Especially if it’s due to different factors? Well, the answer is, I don’t. I’m going to list for you, 10 films of 2011 that I feel should be seen. Please don’t take it as an extensive list, as there are still Far too many flicks that were released at some capacity during the year that I gotten around to yet. Keep in mind that that there is no ranking involved. Movies are listed as they come to me,...

Can you feel it, 'X Factor' fans? I'm not so sure that Michael Jackson's kids did -- the poor moppets were trapped front row center as the contestants cycled through some of their father's greatest hits, but it seemed like Blanket was not at all amused by their shenanigans. (Grandma Katherine Jackson, on the other hand, seems to be the series' biggest fan).
Thankfully, now that we've trimmed a few of the extraneous acts -- and thirty minutes of the show's airtime -- I was feeling it, for the most part (except for the part with 'Can You Feel It,' I wasn't feeling that).

Perhaps a 2012 Best New Artist nominee?
Sabi performed during the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet pre-show on Sunday night, alongside Cobra Starship. Their high-energy performance sparked some serious interest in the singer, who joined Gabe Saporta and the boys for their performance of "You Make Me Feel."
Saporta and Sabi sang as they prowled down the black carpet to the stage for the fans.
Sabi is also known for her work with Britney Spears -- a pal of hers, Sabi is an opening act on the "Femme Fatale" tour and even collaborated with Brit on "(Drop Dead) Beautiful."
Sabi was looking forward to the Vma tribute to her mentor, who won the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award on Sunday. "I personally have been able to watch firsthand how she's worked her butt off. She's been in the game for a minute. She's an icon. It's well overdue," she told reporters.

Chaka Khan Emf 2011 PlaylistEMF Jam SessionFew divas can say they've had as long a career as Ms. Chaka Khan. Born and raised in Chicago, she's given us the confidence to wear afros, halter tops and jaunty hats ("I Feel For You") and now she's also rocking the Essence Music Festival stage this July. In celebration, we've whipped up a Chaka playlist to kick off your week. Chaka, Chaka, Chaka Khan...Tell Me Something GoodThe baseline at the beginning of "Tell Me Something Good" is legendary, not to mention Chaka's sultry lyrics.Through the FireBefore Kanye West sampled this track for his own "Through The Wire," Chaka's original was the go-to slow drag for any house party.I Feel For YouWritten by Prince and originally released on his 1979 self-titled album, Chaka took a shot at "I Feel For You" in 1984. The diva's remake was a success, earning Prince a Grammy the following year.

With “Never Say Never” premiering this weekend, Justin Bieber mania is dialed to extreme. It’s become impossible not to see the teen superstar’s face at every turn, even in your dreams. His music has infiltrated every media platform and his fans are one step from declaring him the next messiah.
Since the United States believes in nothing more than the free market, of course we’ve turned the cherubic Canadian into an entire industry. Beatlemania, Simpsons-mania and New Kids on the Block-mania cannot compare to the marketing behind Biebermania. His sheer amount of merchandise rivals “Twilight.”
For your education and amusement, NextMovie has tracked down the nine most ridiculous Bieber products on the market.

Once again it’s time for the only festival dedicated solely to expanded cinema performance in the U.S. (That I know of anyway.) Brooklyn’s 4th annual Mono No Aware is set to run on Nov. 28, starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Lumenhouse studio and exhibition space.
For those unfamiliar with Mono No Aware’s mission, this is a one-night only collection of once-in-a-lifetime screening events, meaning that what the audience sees this night can never be recreated ever again.
I believe this year has the most performances in a single night than in previous Mono No Aware events. There will be 10 separate performances, each featuring some sort of film projection combined with either live music, image manipulation, audience interaction, electronic noise and/or spoken word.
With the truly unique nature of this event, there’s no way to adequately describe what each performance will exactly be like.

Making for the most talked about moment of the night, Chris Brown took part in a Michael Jackson tribute during the 2010 Bet Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (June 27).
Taking the Shrine Auditorium stage, the 21-year-old offered up a medley of Michael's hits including “The Way You Make Me Feel”, “Smooth Criminal” and “Billie Jean” before breaking down during the "Man In the Mirror" finale.
Following the show, reactions to Brown's emotional performance varied widely - as some fans showed support while others continued to disapprove of all that the singer does since his Rihanna beating scandal.
One fan wrote, "He left his heart on that dance floor and when those tears dropped from his face, so did the audience around the world. He truly gave that his all and showed Michael that he was his idol."
Showing the other end of the spectrum, another viewer told, "Publicity stunt ... so...

Chris Brown Peforms Michael Jackson at 2010 Bet Awards. You know we haven't heard much of lately? Chris Brown. Ever since he made headlines awhile back for physically abusing ex-girlfriend Rihanna, it's almost as if the once hot R&B artist vanished from the face of the earth...unitl now. Last night, Chris Brown lit up the stage last night at the 2010 Bet Awards with a tribute peformance to Michael Jackson. You can check out the video inside. It's obvious Brown put several hours into practicing the King of Pop's signature moves because in the following video, Chris absolutely nails them. Check it out and let us know what you think! Chris sang several songs including "The Way You Make Me Feel," "Remember the Time," "Smooth Criminal," "Billy Jean" and "Man in the Mirror." If Chris wasn't doing enough previously to get back in the spotlight, his performance last night should send fans in a frenzy.

Chris Brown got to participate in the Michael Jackson tribute at the Bet Awards after all. It was, however, a year later than the other stars. After his participation was refused at least year's awards following the highly-publicized domestic "Disturbia" with Rihanna, Brown took the stage for a tribute to King of the Pop which left him, and audiences, in tears.
Just two days after the anniversary of his death, brother Jermaine Jackson introduced Brown as he danced to Mj classics like "The Way You Make Me Feel," "Remember the Time," "Billie Jean," and "Smooth Criminal." Brown made some of the biggest news of the night after falling to his knees for a reflective, tearful rendition of "Man in the Mirror." The audience helped him finish the cover with a sing-along.
Brown also picked up the Fandemonium Award later in the show. "I just want to say, I let you...

HollywoodNews.com: This past week has been filled with more Michael Jackson tributes than we can count to celebrate the one year anniversary of his death. However, Chris Brown finally got his chance to pay homage to the “King of Pop” during a tribute melody at the Bet Awards.
His standing ovation performance ran through the songs “The Way You Make Me Feel,” “Billie Jean,” and then ended with “Man in the Mirror.” Brown swooned his way through Jackson’s signature moves and gave it his all on stage. During the last track, Brown choked up and started bursting into tears so much that he had a hard time finishing the track.
Considering the Awards didn’t have enough time to do a tribute last year, it’s safe to say that Brown pulled through and made everyone proud.
What did you think of his performance?
In case you missed it,...

In honor of Michael Jackson who died last year, a touching tribute was performed by Chris Brown during the live telecast of Bet Awards on June 27. Introduced by the late King of Pop's brother Jermaine Jackson, he kicked off the tribute with "The Way You Make Me Feel".
Afterwards, the "Run It!" hitmaker performed "Billie Jean". The singer who is nominated for Best Male R&B Artist did Michael's every signature move, popping, spinning and moonwalking. Nearing the end, he broke down into tears and crumpled to the stage when delivering "Man in the Mirror".
The 2010 Bet Awards is held at the the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles with Kanye West singing his brand new single "Power" when opening the gig. This becomes his first performance at a prize-giving event after drawing controversy for interrupting Taylor Swift's Best Female Video acceptance speech at 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

EA: Gamer's Games
EA showed that it really wanted to connect with its fans, announcing a reward community for those who play its shooters dubbed EA Gunclub (a name so politically charged that it's certain to arrive with a bang). To support it’s new mixed martial arts game, there will also be Live Broadcast, where gamers compete like athletes and the fighters they create can become "stars." EA Active 2 will have an online social media component, with users getting profiles, fitness tips, and social networking--and the game is finally moving to other systems besides the Wii, thanks to Kinect and EA’s own motion control arm band for PS3.

Gossip gang, there is finally proof to all the things we've been saying for weeks: Chuck and Blair proved they're the most watchable couple on the CW -- even when technically "broken up." Lily proved she might be the only person on TV who lies more than Chuck and Blair combined. Dan got proof from an outside source (thanks, Willa) that his sister dresses like a slut. And Jenny proved why she does. There's the quick of it. I will now open the floor to (totally fabricated) questions and provide to you honest, albeit not completely serious, answers. Let the fun begin.

When I first heard of the new ABC creepy-mystery-drama show I was hopeful just based on the cast. Sam Neill, Amy Acker, Frances Conroy and Steven Weber are probably the most noteable and all have done great projects in the passed. Neill’s performance definitely stands out but after watching this first episode I suppose I should add “confusing” to my hyphenated description of the show above.
Happy Town is the nickname of Haplin, Minnesota where the show takes place. It’s a picturesque small town where everyone is civil, friendly and the town has no crime. It's Friday, which means there will be a whole new slate of films hitting your local cinema. This weekend includes the Matt Damon action thriller "The Green Zone," the relationship comedy "She's Out of My League" and "Mother," the latest film from Bong Joon-ho, the Korean director of indie hits "The Host" and "Memories of Murder." But the flick grabbing the most headlines is "Remember Me," the first major role for "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson since he became America's most beloved undead blood sucker. The film also features "Lost" star Emilie de Ravin (finally doing something other than searching for her baby) as the object of Pattinson's affection and Chris Cooper as de Ravin's controlling father (he doesn't want her associating with the brooding, free-thinking Pattinson).
Like any trip to the local multiplex, "Remember Me" requires some appropriate music to get you into the mood. Memory is clearly a big deal among musicians,...

Although they have been set to perform separately at Pop-Con at Nassau Coliseum in New York this Saturday, February 20, Selena Gomez doesn't dismiss the possibility of having a collaboration on-stage with Justin Bieber. The 17-year-old Disney star recently told MTV that she and the "One Time" hitmaker "would love to" have a duet.
To avoid the possibility of misleading the fans if the plan doesn't go through, the "Wizards of Waverly Place" actress quickly added, "We don't know yet." She added, "We're still trying to figure out if we're going to do something together on-stage. [It] might be a surprise, but as far as co-headlining, I don't know. I'm sure he's much bigger. [It's] probably his show, I'm just there".
Admitting she loves Bieber, Gomez insisted that she only regarded him as her little brother. "When he first started to come over from Canada his manager contacted me and he just said...

There's probably no better way to win back your first love than by showing off your bowling skills, your celebrity pals and your dance moves. At least that's what Justin Bieber attempts to do in his just-released "Baby" video, which premiered online on Friday (February 19).
With a cameo by fellow Canadian Drake and Ludacris, who also raps on the track, the video is a sugary-sweet story of the 15-year-old Bieber trying to win back a girl who is clearly reluctant to give him another chance. What did he do wrong? Perhaps we'll never know, but during the clip we see him doing everything he possibly can to win her back.
