A polar bear sits alone in the woods and is comforted by a yak. The bear has been dumped by his wife but the yak assures him that the single life is great. A simple "plot" then but one that is delivered with genuine humour and imagination by Hardy. I perhaps didn't need the Trevor Hardy love-in that make up the end credits of this film but he does show promise as well as a very clear goal of working with Ardman Animations in Bristol! The style is very them and the humour would not be lost in Wallace & Gromit. This lack of originality could have been a problem if the film was viewed as a cheap rip-off but it is still funny and simple and I found it quite entertaining. The writing is mostly about the gags but the element of examination on the single man's life was interesting enough to provide a nice low-key finish. Worth seeing if you like this sort of animation and humour then and I hope that Hardy gets his ambition.
