John Denver's music continues to inspire the world almost a quarter century after his tragic death (ironically it was in a plane crash). People don't realize that he had a lifelong love with flying (his father who appears in the film with him was a career air force officer). I am amazed at how much history of flight is covered in this hour documentary, to quote Denver it is truly "far out". I loved the opening segment on the history of hot air baloons. Denver points out that getting off the ground didn't start with the Wright brothers at Kitty Hawk in 1903 but with a baloon in 1783! The next segment involves a couple building an exact replica of the Wright brothers plane to see if it could fly. Denver is like a child in a candy store as he gets to fly a fighter jet! He was a man who had great passion for flying as well and its so wonderful he shared it with us!
