Soooooooo BAD!
v_stojcevski6 January 2009
Wow...OK. So, after reading the little feud on here, I decided I had to see this movie for myself. This movie is HORRIBLE. I stopped watching it. I strongly recommend cleaning a closet instead of watching this movie, you'll be more spooked/entertained.

It's low budget with bad acting.

Whoever is giving this "movie" (because this is totally garbage) 10s is completely incorrect and should be disregarded.

I am in no way connected to any of the other reviewers.

Simply put, this garbage is not worth watching.

Very, very, very, very BAD "MOVIE".

one of the worst movie ever filmed
omarsongs1 October 2006
this movie is pure crap... A Disaster no one in this movie could act except the "losing virginity" girl and Glenn plummer. and speaking of glen what the hell were you thinking, its garbage like this that keeps you below the radar as an actor. what was the deal with the lead characters boyfriend(who looks gay and can't act worth a damn)calling her friend a fag and beating him up because he was getting too close to his girlfriend. later they showed a Carrie like moment where he was planning to get back at his girlfriend and the other guy which they never elaborated on and she says in the beginning he dies which he never does and he isn't in the ending at all just a confusing mess of a movie if you are ever present with opportunity to see this movie gouge out your eyes.

I don't like you

Warning: Spoilers
College kids go to a cabin in the woods, cue spinner, voodoo curse killer!

The opening scene has some first person narration in which everyone dies. We then flashback to the story about an ancient voodoo demon who is so powerful he can live today. The acting was sad. The dialogue kept me glued to the fast forward button. The production was poorly written. You should have to be paid to watch it.

Guide: F-word. sex grinding. Brenna Startzel side breast. Thanks

Voodoo! Who Do? You Do! Say What?
nammage31 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
If you ignore the constant composition (99.9% of the time it is playing), the conversation between Plummer's character and the Voodoo guy, the poorly written script, and the bad lighting and sound effects...it really isn't that bad of a film. The thing is: you can't really ignore those things because they are front in center throughout the entire film. This film, as many of them in its genre, is a flashback film. There's one survivor, and she's narrating what happened to all her friends. Well, narrating a little bit in the beginning and some at the end.

The acting is actually not that bad by most (even Plummer). The character Mia was my favorite character mainly because she acted really well and she reminds me of the actress Lindy Booth ("The Librarians"). The special effects was sub par but not the worst I've seen. There is tension but it rests mainly in the last 15-20 minutes. Which is sad...though the intercutting of the drumming was very good but they sometimes went to it too often.

The story is simple, sort of like "The Evil Dead" series (films & TV). They read from a book and then a red glowy eyed demon comes after them and starts killing them. It takes place in a cabin in the woods. Things they do to bring it forward: all the sexual tension and scenes, the reading from the evil book, and if you look into the demons eyes: you're dead.

Not to spoil too much of the ending but it was stupid especially with the added slow motion and the double exposure of the eyes. While, yes, that's the exact ending before credits roll I haven't said anything about the lead up to it (which was boring). Overall, I've seen much much worse; this was below average but still just average all in all.

Good Saturday Night Rental
blkmoviezfan4888 January 2007
I watched this movie with my boys. Was a good Saturday Night rental. Glenn Plummer is in it (He was the guy from the South Central movie, "OOOOOOGGGGGGGG" bobby Johnson). The hot french maid from Go For Broke 2 is also in this movie ::: she is fiiiiiine and she can act:::

Movie has got an original concept with this Voo Doo Monster going around killing people. Acting is good. Girls were hot. I could have used some more gore. that guy in the classroom with the accent is a little too freaky even for this horror movie. Not allot of stuff with black monsters out there so this was a change.

Overall the movie was a trip, it's not Gone With the Wind but it was entertaining.

SIMPLY AMAZING
sadiepryor-870601 November 2019
This movie is simply amazing. I enjoyed every moment of it. It felt truly real and personable, the filming made me feel as if I was there with my favourite characters! I felt utterly terrified when the characters were scared. It was a really magical experience...! The part where the professor and the Giddeh were in the vehicle was my favourite part. The monologues were EXTREMELY well written, and I appreciated that the car was actually moving! The way the Giddeh acted was simply incredible, he was the best character, and the best actor in the movie. I love this movie and recommend it to anyone!

Beware of the Giddeh!
Woodyanders13 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A group of college students on a weekend getaway at a remote lake find their lives in danger after one of them conjures up an evil and lethal African spirit called the Giddeh.

Writer/director Glenn Plummer relates the enjoyable story at a brisk pace, takes time to develop the characters, nicely crafts a spooky mood, and deliver some cool bits of bloody gore. The solid acting from the capable cast keeps this movie humming: Kira Madallo Sesay as sweet virgin Katie, Randy Brooks as the irate Professor Harris, Johann John Jean as the easygoing Carl, John Myrick as rowdy horndog The Viking, Michele Orlando as the fragile Mia, and Terry Bookhart as the sassy Tee. The Giddeh makes for a really cool and savage creature, too. A fun fright flick.
