Christine: Ignition (2004)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
The third and final featurette that can be found on the Special Edition release of John Carpenter's CHRISTINE. This one features Carpenter, producer Richard Kobritz, screenwriter Bill Phillips and actors Keith Gordon, John Stockwell and Alexandra Paul. This featurette starts off with the producer talking about Stephen King sending him some titles to pick from and he talks about skipping past CUJO in favor of this. Carpenter then talks about taking on the project after THE THING had done poorly at the box office and he then sent it to Phillips for the screenplay. We then hear how the actors were selected and this here leads to some stories about the making of the picture. This final featurette clocks in at just over ten-minutes and contains quite a few interesting stories and especially all the stuff early on when we hear about how the film got off the ground and what Carpenter was trying to do with it. It's funny to think that THE THING bombed at the box office but we all know how high that movie is held today. Fans of CHRSITINE are certainly going to enjoy hearing these stories and it's much better than the second featurette including on the disc.
