Mumbai, March 9: He is a versatile actor and successful too, but Anupam Kher says he enjoys teaching more than acting.
The actor, who turned 59 Friday, runs acting institute Actor Prepares.
"I love teaching more than I love acting. It's great to give out than to take from others. There is no syllabus for acting and it's a great feeling. I also get to learn a lot from the new generation," said Anupam.
From serious role in "Saraansh", villain in "Karma" or funny man in "Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin", the actor proved his versatility in the beginning of his career and he maintained it in his over three decades long career. In the last few years he was seen in different kinds of roles in "Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara", "A Wednesday".

New Delhi, July 17: Multiple National Award-winning filmmaker Jahnu Barua detests gimmicks as they make him feel uncomfortable. He prefers making movies in the Assamese language as he is not compelled to include elements like item numbers in his craft, which he feels are a reflection of a filmmaker's weakness.
Barua has made National Award-winning films "And the River Flows", "Aparoopa" and "Bonani" in his mother tongue and even showed his craftsmanship in Hindi movie "Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara".
"I don't like gimmicks because I feel uncomfortable. In the 1950s and the 1960s, movies that were commercially successful didn't.

Anupam told Ians. The two-time national award-winning actor made his acting debut in the 1982 Hindi movie "Aagman", but carved a niche for himself by playing a grieving father in the 1984 movie "Saaransh". His portrayal garnered immense critical and commercial acclaim. Then there was no looking back for the actor, who has done more than 400 films in his about three decade long acting career. Some of his unforgettable films include "Karma", "Daddy", "Ram Lakhan", "Lamhe", "Dil", "Saudagar", "Hum Aapke Hain Kaun...!", "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge...

Having done 400 films in a span of nearly 30 years, veteran actor Anupam Kher is staying away from the big screen. He says it is sometimes important to stay away from the cameras and lights to make one's presence felt. "People ask me these days why I am not so prominently visible on screen. But I feel in life, a time comes when you don't feel like running after work. After doing 400 films, I feel contented. Sometimes it becomes important to make your presence felt with your absence; that is what I am doing now," Anupam told Ians in an interview. The Padma Shri awardee arrived in Bollywood with his powerful performance in "Saaransh". From villain to funny guy to character roles, he has a variety of performances under his belt in his nearly three-decade-long career. If he scared people as a ruthless villain in "Karma" (1986) and "Hum", he made them...
