It won't scare you to death, but might bore you to death...

When I sat down to watch the 2004 Thai horror movie "Pisaj" (aka "Evil") here late in 2022, I did so without ever having heard about the movie. I stumbled upon it by random chance, and being a sucker for Asian horror movies, of course there was no doubt about me having to sit down and watch this movie.

And so I did, well sort of at least. Yeah, I managed to sit through 51 minutes of the 101 minutes that the movie ran for, then I just tossed the towel in the ring out of sheer and utter boredom. Writer and director Chookiat Sakveerakul had delivered nothing worthwhile or entertaining in those long 51 minutes of torment that I suffered through, so I just gave up.

The storyline in "Pisaj", as written by Chookiat Sakveerakul, fell entirely short of entertaining me, simply because nothing interesting or scary happened in the 51 minutes that I sat through. So I really didn't see a reason to continue on, not even with the 6.2 rating that the movie have received on IMDb as I am writing this review.

The acting performances in "Pisaj" were fair enough, just a shame that the actresses and actors virtually had nothing worthwhile working with from the script.

If you enjoy Asian horror movies, then there are far, far better choices readily available out there. Don't waste your time on "Pisaj", it just simply isn't worth the effort. For a horror movie then "Pisaj" was a swing and a miss.

My rating of "Pisaj" lands on a very generous two out of ten stars, simply because of the production value.
