Well animated and interesting but hardly "dance" as you would imagine it
Three women move together across an animated background in search of nothing but games and tales. They all have their worries and fears but, in the end, they just have fun. I watched this film as part of the 4 Dance funding stream of work and was surprised to find that it would have been better classed as animation than dance. The three dancers are all young women who basically roll around on a black floor with animation added around them afterwards.
There isn't really much plot to speak of, although it does try to have something going on, but it looks interesting enough to fill 3 minutes. The dance is not that impressive; I don't want to talk down the work of the three performers but it does look a little like they are rolling around on the floor. The animation is an interesting mix of swirls and shapes, with a big fish swimming around. They provide some distraction even if they don't really mean that much or look that pretty.
Overall this is watchable for 3 minutes and benefits from the three young dancers being easy on the eye and quite flexible; however with no substance to really speak of and rolling more than dancing, there are much better short films for dance fans to watch. I did enjoy it because it was unique but its not going to be for everyone.
