After successfully battling ovarian cancer for the second time and sharing her journey on People.com, Diem Brown is back to blogging. This time around, she will not only share updates on her own life, but also about competing on her new show, MTV's The Challenge: Rivals II.
Success is when preparation meets opportunity.
Some people might call me overly cautious, but I try to make sure that when the right opportunity presents itself that I am 100 percent prepared for it. That, above all, explains why I ran, swam, and trained so hard in preparation for this season of The Challenge.

Each year one or two good looking movies I know nothing about magically appear online with solid trailers that fire me up to no end. The Raid: Redemption was an example of this odd phenomena, though even Soderbergh's final project Side Effects, also starring Noomi Rapace snuck up on me too. This new film, a thriller called Dead Man Down is led by prominent actors in Rapace, Colin Farrell, and Terence Howard, and like Side Effects I'm ashamed to have not passed along anything about it prior to a preview. My bad...

After all the hype, a little something beyond a blurry Superman in cuffs and a rather familiar looking destruction shot would have been nice, but while the posters for Man of Steel and Star Trek Into Darkness fell short, at least one of the two made up for it with a truly wicked first teaser trailer. The Best Stuff 1. Star Trek Into Darkness Teaser Trailer: J.J. Abrams, you are officially forgiven for that mean trick you played while on Conan back in October. Not only does the Star Trek Into Darkness teaser trailer offer up a rapid-fire sequence of picturesque and explosive imagery, but it also functions as a character piece, both highlighting the villain and packing the power to make you feel his wrath. 2. Side Effects Viral Site: You know those silly quizzes in...

Side effects from Elena's transition to a vampire will continue to be felt in upcoming episodes of The Vampire Diaries. We already know that she's been having a tough time subsisting on anything but human blood and now she'll be suffering from hallucinations.
In "We All Go a Little Mad Sometimes": "Terrifying hallucinations leave Elena (Nina Dobrev) shaken and confused, causing her to make a dangerous mistake. After giving Stefan (Paul Wesley) some very disturbing news about Elena, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) takes matters into his own hands. Professor Shane (guest star David Alpay) reveals a story of ancient witchcraft to Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham). With help from Klaus and Stefan, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) begins a new chapter in his life. Finally, Elena makes a painful personal confession to Stefan, and Matt (Zach Roerig) gives Damon startling new information about Professor Shane."

I get asked that question. A lot. You see, five years ago I wrote and directed an independent, low budget film starring Katherine Heigl called Side Effects. The film was loosely based on my ten years selling pills for big pharma and was just now (finally) released on DVD by Warner Bros. For 16 days Katherine, I and the rest of the crew worked 12 to 14 hours a day. She napped on my couch (we couldn't afford a 'trailer'), she played with my kids (we couldn't afford a babysitter), she knitted on my porch. She even wore my underwear. Given the current rumor mill about Katherine's on and off set antics as well as the time/money/stress involved with an indie production, most people assume that I must have had a nightmare on my hands during the shoot. The opposite was...
