boy, this Romanian film industry is really starting to kick it up. milionari de weekend is definitely not one of the best movies we've had but it's worth a shot. and u can clearly see that it's the product of the new breed of Romanian filmmakers, so don't expect much. they're only beginning to work their way through the art industry. so far so good. the cast is really young and some of them are quite talented, but that is not enough for a good movie. as for the plot, after a about 20 minutes it's really starting to work. and i'll tell you something else. you really don't have to be a Romanian to understand this. And if u really wanna see an old school Romanian movie that's really great i suggest u try Filantropica.

Well, after seeing a lot of Sergiu Nicolaescu's(a famous romanian director) I took a shoot in watching "Milionari de weekend", movie directed by Catalin Saizescu. It's basically a simple movie in which 3 guys and a girl get into a Russian Mafia conflict involving some art museum treasure, some money and you can see where this is getting to....I'm not going to give away any of the events from the movie, just going to let you watch it for yourself. In my opinion,"Milionari de weekend" reminds of Guy Richie's "Snatch" with all the close up footages, events mixed up, russians (there ls an actually Boris character here too..), a lot of characters not really defined...Anyway, some of you might know what I am talking about. On the other hand, I enjoyed some of characters, there's some good laughs in there and yes the fact that there are young actors starring in makes me think that yes, Romania can make movies. That's great! what's next? Laters

It is a movie that shows how the Young's Romanians are and their way of seeing life.it is not one of the best movies but it worth been seen. It is hard to understand or to like this movie if you are not Romanian because lots of jokes have the Romanians specific. But we have to appreciate that the new Romanian movie industry begins to develop. The actors are from the young generations and i think that this is one of the best choices that the director has made.They represent the attitude of the Romanian Young. What i liked the most at this movie is that the dream of the young actors came true but in the end it seemed that this dream is the worst four them. So...careful what you wish for....

Yes ! I've seen it ! And I laughed a lot. Maybe if you are not a Romanian or you've never been here, you can't understand the jokes or the thinks that are in this movie. Tudor Chirila is one of the new generation of actors in Romania. He is also a rock singer (his band is called Vama Veche - like one of the small cities from Romania, the frontier between Romania and Bulgaria). You can see in the movie that Chirila is acting like a rebel young boy. Also, there are two of our TV-stars : Oreste (called in the movie Fane Satar) and Mircea Badea (who's playing himself in the movie). They are very funny. The screenplay is kinda easy. But the movie is made for the young (20-30 years old). And with this movie, I can say that this is a step forward for the Romanian movie industry (and here I can say about the visual effects ... kinda new from Romanians). There's much to tell about this movie. But, maybe is better to find yourself. So ... if you wanna have fun ... try this movie ...

In my humble opinion ... a five star movie (from 5 possibles).

As a first note, Romanian rap band "Parazitii" does not appear in the movie :) Beside that, this movie really succeeded keeping me hooked up. Starting the second half of the movie, i was so gotten into the story, that i felt sorry the movie finished. The first part of the movie isn't so bright, the characters don't event try to act. And there are places where it's obvious that "Total Professional Records" did the movie (i say it in the most ironic way possible). But what i liked about this movie is that it kept me hooked up on the action. The script is, in my humble opinion, quite amazing. Also, it's one of the not-so-many movies i would like to see again in the future. The way the movie ends makes you feel like you missed something the first time, you must see it again to get the picture. And one last thing i liked in particular is that on several occasions, you think that in the next frame is going to happen a certain think... that's precisely the thing that's not going to happen. I like that. Sound is also pure genial. Now, the movie also has bad parts, but you can ignore them if you have the will. I gave it a 7/10.

This was indeed a movie that pointed the youth audience , action is taking place in Romania, between Bucharest and the town at the Black Sea coast named Constanta , the hole plot is about two criminal bands that are fighting for recover a precious statuette that contains a very old ring which has an invaluable power that can harm or protect it's owner. For all of this there is a third band that has stolen it in the first place and three friends and a girl that involuntary happens to have it with the money from the deal that was disturbed in the first part of the movie , without knowing about the ring. They will gonna start spending the money and have fun for a weekend thinking about what lucky they have been finding it. All of this will be spoiled when the bands locate them . And here starts the action.

That all plot it supposed to seems like Hollywood action-comedy movies.

Yes, I have seen the movie. Yes, I am from Romania. And yes, unfortunately, this is a grade B movie.

The acting is bad - I would go as far as saying that there's no acting.

The plot is (too) surreal.

The script is poorly written - the dialog is terrible.

As a comedy, it is hardly funny.

On the positive side, the only thing that I can think of, is the soundtrack, which is rather good.

Unfortunately this movie portrays the present general attitude of the Romanian society: questionable behavior, questionable taste in the arts. Hopefully, future movies will be better.

I gave it a 4 out of 10 for effort and as encouragement.

Well ... if you look at the movie as an "American clone action movie", than you must be really stupid. The movie is a comedy, "dear previous commenter" ... it is a very good comedy that makes fun of the American production style. It all depends on how you look at it.

The movie is brilliant. The story is great. You can't figure out the end of the movie, which is really really great. And to be honest ... 9 out of 10 friends of mine loved the movie.

I don't know how you can say the movie is the "biggest crap". You must know how to view a good movie.

This is one of the worst movies I've seen lately. Frankly I don't even know why I watched it till the end. The story sucks, the American action movie scenes are totally childish, it shows that it's a lame imitation. The actors aren't convincing at all. And the language, oh the language is really awful...They say the lines with a pathetic tone which is totally crap. Don't watch this movie, it will save you 1h40min of your life! I really don't understand those who gave it a 10!!! I also don't understand how such a movie might pretend to have the least success even in Romania. I sure hope the audience isn't as stupid as this movie seems to be.

this is a prof that Romanian film industry has improved very much , and i expect others big success for the coming future. This film shows the life of Romanian teenagers and how they have fun in the real way men , with parties and all sorts of others things . What can i say the Romanians know how to have fun ,despite the Americans whom are fat and stupids, they have boring parties and everything it's very boring at them. Anyway ,like a said it's about some teenagers having fun , but some unexpected thing happens and suddenly they wake being millionaires , and they start to dream how they will spend the money , but this nice dream turns into nightmare when those who lost there money came to take back what belongs to them . In the end those 3 boys and a girl survives the adventure. Like i said THE REAL LIFE IS HERE IN ROMANIA !!!! and this film proves it that we can do anything

I agree with "romulus_sultan" and his view about this movie and about the country's problems with movies. Romania has very big problems! Our own treasury its in Russia for real!!! No joke! They stole it from us!! And no one does nothing to help us, not USA, nor NATO, nor European Union, nor UN!! And wait! There's more! Bessrabia, Bucovina, Bugeag and the South part of the Dobruja (Cadrilater) is ours! Learn the Dacian history & the Kingdom of Romania history. The tyrants stole them from us, they killed our romanian people and they bringed russians in their empty homes and they obligated them to learn Russian language (cyliric) and Russian history instead of romanian language and history. AND GREAT!!! Now we are having movies about this subject, making fun of ourselves, our suffering and how stupid we are... instead of making "COMPLAINING MOVIES about this subject" like dramas. Making fun of our own poor bessrabian people... I consider this movie a direct attack to the Romanian nation and history. Not even talking about the bad and cheap acting... I don't think we are able to make movies. For a few moments I couldn't find a reason why did 37.4% (at the time i wrote this) of people vote with 10 for this movie, but after i did some 10 seconds thinking i found the reason: "we have so few movies that even the worse movies that we make, they seem the best for us". LOL, now seriously, if this cheap movie deserves this high rating what can we say about the great American titles like Kill Bill, Triple X 1 & 2, Gone in 60 Seconds, Fight Club and so on... The best romanian movie i seen so far is "Mihai Viteazul". Now I'm gonna say a few words about the movie ending. It was shocking! Very stupid! It just stopped! Its like they didn't had money to keep filming, hahaha! The ending is so sudden, and the movie ends without closing the storyline... My opinion: Don't waste your time with this movie unless you are an obsessed romanian movie watcher.
