Paulus creator
Jan van Oort was not involved in the new TV-series after selling the rights to
Thijs Chanowski. Van Oort was known to be unhappy with the directions the show took, claiming the characters had become colorless. However, during an interview in 1975, Van Oort also admitted that he had expected this to happen and didn't bear a grudge. A more positive side from the new TV-series was a renewed interest in Paulus, which made Van Oort able to sell his Paulus books and comic strips again.
