The 48 Hour Film Project took place in San Diego from 7:00pm on Friday, July 30th, 2004 to 7:00pm on Sunday, August 1st, 1004. The script was completed at 4:30am Saturday morning and shooting lasted from 9:00am to 3:00am Sunday morning. The final product was delivered 12 minutes before the deadline of 7:30 at 7:18pm on Sunday.
The total running time is 7 minutes 59 seconds, a second shy of the 8 minute limit imposed by the competition.
Doug Jones did not receive the script until shortly before he drove down to San Diego from Los Angeles, where he was at a Comic Book signing for the Hellboy DVD release.
Doug Jones was signed to play the character of the Imp in the Doom movie, which is based on the video game series, the same week that he shot this short about video games.
Both the producer, Aaron Matthew Kaiser, and the director, Gulliver Parascandolo, wore fedoras on set.
