As a film student, I can sit and watch this short film and have a laugh at the expense of director DJ Summitt because I'm learning that the complications he and his crew faced can and do happen to everyone. If you teach a class in film production or are studying it, I highly recommend you sit down and watch this. It could very well keep you motivated to slug through the problems that pop up during film shoots. "Doomed to Failure" is a clever piece that follows a crew as their intended project falls apart bit by bit. Fortunately for Summitt, he made lemonade out of his lemons. What he came away with in the end is probably miles better than any envisioned mafia movie could or would be.

This is for anyone that has hopelessly failed at something...

This is a great short documentary illustrating the meltdown of a film project due to bad equipment, inexperience, divas, and a lack of chemistry. This is for anyone that has ever tried to produce something in which you had to rely on others (humans, equipment, etc.), and the "others" did not follow through. You're hard work and dream in the making is smashed to bits. You know, everyone else knows it, but you keep on trying to make it happen... that's what this film is about. The film itself moves quickly, and shows the crew discovering piece by piece the demise of their project. I think about everyone can relate to this film, especially those who have some creative blood in them.
Doomed to Failure is a must see documentary!

The story was written, the actors were cast, the crew was ready, the film made. There was just one problem. Wait, not one, many. Doomed to Failure is a documentary about making a film where everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. This hilarious behind the scenes look at the film that never was gives you first hand experience about all the problems that can occur while making a low budget film. Doomed to Failure is a repeated award nominated short film that always guarantees to be a favorite at film festivals and continues to win over the hearts of fans. Aspiring new director, DJ Summit, brings to life the grim side of student film-making by presenting a memorable real life documentary that will leave you laughing.
Summitt's piece original and inspirational

New director DJ Summitt's short film "Doomed to Failure" is witty and funny. The mishaps, bad luck, and poor planning he and his crew endure to produce the film he originally intended become something actually better. Despite everything that happens to keep the project from completion, Summitt and co. come out with a film unlike anything else I've seen, and which inspires a creative audience to persevere through trials and come out with an end product, even if it isn't the one you envisioned. Summitt shows us how to roll with the punches and come up smelling like roses.
Bottom line: a short film more than worth the little time it takes to enjoy it.
