Rosalía is channeling her emotions through the beauty of belting lyrics at a karaoke bar. On Friday, as she released her album Motomami, the Spanish singer dropped the surprise music video for “Candy,” in which she’s joined by a group of friends as she performs the track in a karaoke bar.
“No me has olvida’o, no me has olvida’o,” she sings in the chorus, before adding, “Ya no te quiero como antes/Me rompiste, pero solo en parte’/Llevaba tu esclava para pensarte.” (“You haven’t forgotten me,...

After Rosalía released her 2018 album El Mal Querer, a baroque masterwork anchored in solemn flamenco traditions and glowing pop sounds, the Spanish artist’s world cracked wide open, and everything seemed to rush at her at once. There was endless praise: She was a creative genius. She was a hero of the avant-garde. She’d saved flamenco. Waves of criticism came with equal force: She wasn’t doing authentic flamenco. She wasn’t original. She was too commercial. Rosalía kept morphing in the spotlight, shapeshifting through singles, pulling from genres like reggaeton and hip-hop.

Jessica Biel is stepping into the shoes of one of true crime’s most notorious killers in the first trailer for Hulu’s “Candy.”
Biel stars in the series as Candy Montgomery, a seemingly normal housewife in small town Wylie, Tex., who was convicted in 1980 for the brutal axe murder of her neighbor Betty Gore, played in the show by Melanie Lynskey.
The teaser trailer shows Biel transform into Candy, with curly hair and large rimmed-glasses. Footage of her going about her daily life in suburbia is juxtaposed with narration from her trial, as a lawyer played by Raúl Esparza (“Hannibal”) questions her about her relationship with Betty.
“I had no angry feelings towards her if that’s what the question is,” Biel says in the trailer. “We were…friends.”

Without knowing anything about her decision-making process, it’s clear that Jessica Biel decided to make some bold career choices in the mid-2010s. After a career as a recognizable leading lady in mostly subpar films, the actress decided to dive headfirst into TV and take on some challenging roles in hard-hitting thrillers and dramas. And ultimately, leading the way with “The Sinner” back in 2017, that has worked out really well for Biel.

Dare we say Jessica Biel looks pretty killer in costume as convicted murderer Candy Montgomery. Photographers captured the actress in a very '80s blue dress, oversized glasses and heels as she filmed the upcoming Hulu series Candy in Decatur, Ga. on Tuesday, Feb. 15. True crime fanatics cannot wait for Biel's portrayal of Montgomery, a housewife and devout Methodist who killed her best friend Betty Gore with an axe in June 1980. Biel has become a trusted storyteller in the thriller genre after starring in and executive producing USA's The Sinner, as well as Facebook Watch's Limetown. Not to mention, she's an executive producer on the popular Freeform drama Cruel...

Amazon-owned streaming service puts five more projects in development
Amazon’s IMDb TV will adapt Tegan and Sara’s best-selling memoir “High School” into a drama series that will be executive produced by Clea DuVall. Additionally, the streaming service is significantly expanding its output by putting five more scripted projects in development and greenlighting three unscripted series.
“High School,” which will be co-created by Tegan and Sara, is described as a coming-of-age story of first loves and first songs. Produced by Amazon Studios and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment, “High School” is a story about finding your own identity — a journey made even more complicated when you have a twin whose own struggle and self-discovery so closely mimics your own. Told through a backdrop of 90s grunge and rave culture, the series weaves between parallel and discordant memories of twin sisters growing up down the hall from one another.

We thought you promised not to fall in love with A Walk to Remember? Jk, who could resist the 2002 coming-of-age cryfest starring Shane West and Mandy Moore? The beloved adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' novel of the same name premiered 19 years ago on Jan. 25, with the Once and Again star becoming one of the biggest heartthrobs of the early aughts and the "Candy" singer proving she was a force to be reckoned with in her first leading role. Can you imagine if we were robbed the chemistry between West...

Whether she’s being dragged screaming across the floor of a mental hospital in “Invisible Man” or lumbering drunkenly with a cigarette and a sneer at a decorous dinner party in “Shirley,” Elisabeth Moss doesn’t take her roles home with her at the end of the day. “I don’t even take it to the car,” she said in a recent interview with IndieWire. “Or back to my trailer.”
That’s surprising, given that Moss needs no introduction as the onscreen harbinger of mad, messy women, and she played two of them exceptionally (again) in 2020. First, in Leigh Whannell’s Universal monster movie homage “The Invisible Man,” updated as a post-#MeToo gaslighting thriller, and then, in Josephine Decker’s jagged portrait of gothic fiction writer Shirley Jackson, “Shirley.” Both performances required harrowing physical and mental feats, but anyone who knows Moss, or has spoken to her over the...

Of the four remaining contenders in Group B of “The Masked Dancer,” the one that is proving the most difficult to determine their real name is the Sloth. ‘Masked Dancer': Paula Abdul Will Not Let Go of Jenna Dewan-As-Cotton Candy Theory (Exclusive Video)
“The Masked Dancer” panelist Paula Abdul thinks the Cotton Candy contestant is her pal Jenna Dewan and she cannot be convinced otherwise on Wednesday’s episode of the Fox dancing competition.

New Delhi, Jan 12 (Ians) Playing a teacher in his upcoming web series has been one of the most difficult jobs in his career as an actor, says Ronit Roy.
Titled "Candy", Ronit's upcoming show comes with stories of drugs, politics, ambition and murder, and is being touted as "sweet and sinister". Directed by Ashish R. Shukla, it is set in a boarding school in a hilltown.
"The character is a schoolteacher. Not to be misled by that, the characters are very layered, very complex, dealing with a lot of internal issues, and external issues. So it is by far one of the most difficult characters I've played in my career," Ronit told Ians.
"Two years back the writers had pitched the show to me, and at that time I found it extremely exciting. They had worked on it, and there was not much to think about before saying yes," he added.

Hulu has picked up the Elisabeth Moss-led limited series “Candy,” TheWrap has confirmed.
The true-crime drama will star Moss as Candy Montgomery, the infamous Texas murderer and her victim, Betty Gore. Here is the logline for the series: In 1980 Texas, Candy Montgomery (Moss) seemingly had it all – loving husband with a good job, a daughter and a son, a nice house in the brand new suburbs – so why did she kill her friend from church with an ax?
The project landing at Hulu not only reunites the streamer with the star of its Emmy-winning drama “The Handmaid’s Tale,” but also with writers and executive producers Robin Veith with Nick Antosca, who both worked on Hulu’s true-crime limited series, “The Act.”
Alex Hedlund and Moss will also serve as executive producers on the series from UCP, along with Lindsey McManus. Jim Atkinson & John Bloom will serve as consulting producers.

Whether it’s the Devil sitting down at the piano in his penthouse or Lilith belting out a tune in a 1940’s club, music has always played an integral role in the Lucifer gestalt. With a full blown musical episode planned for the second half of season five, and the noir homage “It Never Ends Well for the Chicken” already in the books, it’s time to reflect on some of the fantastic musical choices showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich have made.
Series lead Tom Ellis (Lucifer) has sung on multiple occasions during the show’s five year run, and in an interview with DaMan, he could barely contain his excitement for the upcoming musical episode. “It was by far and away the most fun I have had doing anything on a set ever!
