An industrial film from your friends at McGraw-Hill.
planktonrules10 February 2021
"The Bright Young Newcomer" is a short industrial film that is included on Alpha Video's DVD for "Secrets of a Model". The two films have nothing to do with each other and I guess they tossed in this short film because it really didn't fit in anywhere else.

This film is all about office friction and how bosses should deal with conflicts as they arise. In this case, when a new lady comes to work at an office, an older and not particularly nice employee gets miffed and tries to get rid of the woman. Unfortunately, the boss does nothing and the problems only gets worse.

Because it was never intended as a film for the general public, I really cannot rate it and think to do so would make little sense. It's probably not a film you need to see, however...just an ephemeral oddity.

By the way, this film is very faded and instead of looking like new, it looks as if the print was tinted light pink!

RAWR! Office Cat Fights!
Spuzzlightyear17 November 2005
In this classic "What would you do?" film, The boss introduces Joan who is wearing FAR to much makeup, to the girls of the firm he runs. Soon Joan runs into odds with Betty, old office idea stalwart. Soon Betty complains to the boss, Boss says he will do something about it, but never does, Joan and Betty run into odds again, and my god, nearly duke it out (RAWR!) once again Betty complains. The end card reads "Why doesn't Betty adapt new ideas?" It's interesting that Betty is to blame for everything, I didn't think that was fair. ANYWAYS, this film has muted colors, which makes the film all that stranger. This is a MUST SEE, I laughed my ass off.
