Una propuesta original, por lejos la mejor película de Woody Allen que he visto hasta el momento, quizás sólo se le pueda achacar la aparición de ciertas licencias en determinados pasajes que atentan contra la factibilidad de las situaciones. Pero por lo demás es una pieza imprescindible dentro del thriller psicológico con manejo de conceptos tales como la ambición y codicia humana, la infidelidad, el estatus social, la desesperación y la ansiedad de perder calidad de vida por un accionar instintivo e irreflexivo, la suerte que pende de un delgado hilo y las decisiones extremas como último recurso contrapuestas con el peso de la conciencia. Un filme que te invita seguirlo desde el comienzo, donde las circunstancias se van intensificando de tal forma que como espectador me comprometí de lleno con las alternativas que Allen nos describe. Es de agradecer que no hay momentos insulsos sino que el ritmo narrativo es saludable y la expectación se mantiene durante todo el desarrollo con un final que para mi gusto ensalza aún más la inventiva de este director que se propuso hacer algo distinto y le salió redondo. Ya desde la música clasista (en sustitución del jazz) se le da un toque de elite al filme para describir el mundillo de la aristocracia inglesa que constituye el contexto principal en el que se mueven las vicisitudes de la cinta. Si bien no me han parecido actuaciones descollantes, hay que reconocer que las labores histriónicas constituyen uno de los pilares del filme, conjuntamente con el guión y la dirección de actores siempre magistral en Woody Allen. En definitivas, un filme que mantiene su intriga hasta el último fotograma, todo es mérito de este "aggiornado" Woody Allen que demostró por qué es considerado un grande.
