The Profane Exhibit is a film which I am eagerly awaiting. An anthology of extreme horror, The Profane Exhibit marks Ruggero Deodato's (Cannibal Holocaust) first directorial project in almost a decade. We are one short closer to release, as Marian Dora's (Zombie Nation, Cannibal) segment, "Mors in Tabula" wraps. Sneak a peek with this still:
In "Mors in Tabula," a middle-aged woman suffering from incurable cancer is offered an operation that could be her "last chance." But the surgeon has only his own desires in mind...
Other directors signed on to The Profane Exhibit include Michael Todd Schneider (August Underground's Mordum), Andrey Iskanov (Philosophy of a Knife, Visions of Suffering), Ryan Nicholson (Famine, Grave Encounters 2), special effects makeup artist Sergio Stivaletti (Cemetary Man, The Stendhal Syndrome), Coffin Joe (Awakening of the Beast, A Capital dos Mortos), Richard Stanley (Hardware, The Theatre Bizarre), Yoshihiro Nishimura (Dead Sushi, The ABCs of Death...

As we wind down Indie Horror Month here at Dread Central, we've got one more Tip of the Scalpel especially saved for our indie friends. But before we get into that, there's one more group that deserves a nod.
What better time than Indie Horror Month to salute the do-it-yourself filmmakers out there who are getting things done. These are the guys who slog through a 40-hour work week, then when Saturday rolls around they bust out the production equipment and spend their free time filming and editing for the sheer love of the game.
These are the people who bring us such entertaining productions as the Bloody Cuts series, The Chainsaw Sally Show, Night Terrors, The Social Media Massacre and the numerous other shorts and web series you see featured here on a regular basis and we can't thank them enough for their efforts. Keep up your amazing work.

Some guys just know how to put together a trailer. The creators of the upcoming film Slew Hampshire definitely know what they're doing. Writer/director Flood Reed brings us a horrific vision of backwoods violence set to some kick-ass background music. In this 90-second trailer you get buckets of blood and the biggest collection of psycho eyes you'll ever see in such a short span of time!
Starring Dayo Okeniyi, Claire Dodin, Tyler Rice, Matt Hish, Shawn Thomas, Brian Allen and (in my opinion) one of the scariest guys in the horror business, Michael Todd Schneider of August Underground's Mordum fame. I'm sure the rest of the cast is brilliant as the trailer is very entertaining, but Schneider gives me chills. If you listen closely to the background song, you'll hear a line mentioning something about "…backwoods mutherfuckery…" That seems to pretty much sum things up.
Check out the trailer below,...

Dread Central has gotten wind of a secretive project being developed entitled The Profane Exhibit, a new anthology film dealing with the nature of corruption that looks to be a no-holds barred shocker. Although just a few slivers of information have been leaked about this ten-part compilation, what we've seen thus far indicates some serious pushing of the boundaries of good taste, and we've got high hopes for it.
Three of the film's ten directors have been announced, and it seems to be a true rogues' gallery running the show at The Profane Exhibit. Try these names on for size:
Directing a segment entitled Manna, straight from one of the most visually disturbing horror films ever created, August Underground's Mordum, is Michael Todd Schneider. That name alone should be enough to curl the toes of even the most hardened viewer. But that's just the beginning.
Manna stars AmberLynn Walker (Guinea Pig...
