This is one of the documentaries on the Diamond Edition 2-Disc DVD of Beauty and The Beast, and the only one that has its own page here on IMDb. Covering several animated Disney features(and starting each with a quote about literature from someone famous, and most of them genuinely aren't pretentious), this goes into(giving a full synopsis of the plot, and yes, of course, spoiling them) Beauty and The Beast(who'd have guessed), The Lion King, Pocahontas, The Jungle Book, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan and Hunchback of Notre Dame, and gives us the historical facts, legend, myth or otherwise what inspired and what was the original source material for them(well, not Hamlet for The Lion King, in spite of how obvious it is). It consists of clips from the movies, narration(some by an actor from the picture itself, and when not, someone from the cast of, once again, Beauty and The Beast) as well as stills and artwork(of what isn't in the famous version, or the one by this studio). This is quite informational and interesting, and the menu allows you to just watch the one or ones you wish to, though it is all worth your time. There is a little disturbing content in this. I recommend this to fans of the flicks it explores. 8/10

A look behind many of Disney animated movies

The Story Behind the Story can be found on the second disk of the 2 disk Platimun Edition Beauty and the Beast DVD.

This is a short film is broken up into eight parts. The first part is an introduction and the other seven are each about a different Disney animated movie. The movies include Cinderella, The Lion King, Pocahontas, The Jungle Book, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Each part is narrated by a different actor.

Each part is short only lasting a few minutes. They tell the story about what was the origins on the movie, if it comes from a book, legend, or if it was completely original.

Being a fan of Disney this was a fun short film. If you have ever been curious about where the ideas came from you should definitely check this one out.
