Amusing Spanish comedy in which two good actors as Puigcorbe and Echanove become involved into improbable situations
ma-cortes12 February 2012
Fun comedy with touches of irreverence and full of entertainment , humor and sheer amusement . It deals with two fifty-years-old men , named Julio (Juanjo Puigcorbe), an ex-stunt , now without employment and August (Juan Echanove) , a Cabman , two born-losers on the brink of despair , both of whom are caught up in trouble when , seeking to take the big hit that denied life , accept the task of carrying out a clandestine operation in Cartagena until Perpignan in exchange for one million Euros . In their vicissitude , the dropouts will be accompanied by Augusto's father-in-law named Melquiades (the veteran Antonio Gamero , recently deceased) , who suffers from old dementia and a prostitute, Lola (the model Esther Cañadas). Later on , they are joined by Emma (Mariola Fuentes , subsequently Almodovar girl) , another whore , a type of woman who shows great love for Julio . In pursuing its objective the losers will face a group of gangster smugglers (Jose Sancho) who do not seem willing to July and August are off the hook . Meanwhile , the motley group travels across Spanish eastern coast , throughout Valencia , Gerona , Port Bou , Rosas and many other locations .

This action comedy contains lots of humor , pursuits and amusement . The film moves in fits and starts most of which would be desirable, with more traps the viewer resists any kind, and some moments of enjoyment and others quite a few embarrassing . The journey of the protagonists is so repetitive and the most part results to be rich in absurdities and implausibilities . Sympathetic performances from Juanjo Puigcorbe who often evokes those wonderful times as a former stunt and Juan Echanove as a driver usually deceived by prostitutes . Agreeable support cast gives good acting as the notorious Jose Sancho , Antonio Gamero and of course Antonio Resines , usual actor in the director's films . Brief playing by Antonio Del Real as a Guardia Civil , he ordinarily does cameos for his movies . The picture is dedicated to his daughter Blanca Jara who also appears as starring or secondary in some films . Colorful photography with juicy atmosphere by Hans Burman , deemed to be one of the best Spanish cameraman . Lively and commercial musical score including some catching songs . The motion picture was professionally directed by Antonio Del Real , a good filmmaker expert on comedies such as has proved in ¨Crazy heart¨, ¨Por Fin Solos¨, ¨Cafe coca y Puro¨ ,¨Woman of your life¨ , ¨Men always lie¨, ¨ Powerful Influjo of moon¨ , ¨Buscando Perico¨ and his greatest success : ¨Cha ,Cha, Cha¨ . In addition , he also directed some drama as ¨El Rio Que Nos Lleva¨ and his last film was ¨Conjura Del Escorial¨ based on historic deeds about intrigue and fight-power in court of Philip II and played by an international cast .
