The story is about Jack Kidd, a man who gives up city life in Connecticut and heads west to Colorado and lives out his dream of being a cowboy on a dude ranch.

I saw this film at the Durango Film Festival in March of 2005. A wonderful family film about a man who never gave up on his dreams of being a cowboy. I went to one of the screenings and afterward the director and a few of the actors were present for Q & A. What I was impressed with the independent spirit of the making of this film. This film was shot in twelve days, which seems quite amazing, when you have large amounts of snow, animals, and a budget under a million dollars. The production team assembled a good group of talent and crew, who I noticed in the credits doubled up on jobs during the production. Overall the story line is very simple, but yet entertaining to a wide audience. The film had a little bit of everything whether it was drama, comedy, romance, and the beauty of south western Colorado.

Sweet Western

A story with it's heart in the right place. Funny and entertaining. Beautifully shot. The cast is endearing, especially the cowboy wannabe hero. This is a film I'd highly recommend for youngsters with cowboy and cowgirl hearts as well as oldsters with cowboy and cowgirl hearts :)

Great Setting Not So Great Acting

This film features some beautiful scenery but that seems to be its only good quality. The acting and script are positively atrocious. I get that the film was probably low budget but surely they could've found some better actors. It was literally laughable. The plot is weak and leaves the film feeling incomplete. There were several shots and scenes that just lasted way too long, we ended up skipping those parts. The comic relief isn't even funny, it seems his only vocabulary is "dammit!". The only funny thing about it was the bad acting and the visible age difference between the main character and his love interest. I suggest watching this if you're looking for something to put you to sleep.
