Ridiculous and hokum comedy with full of silly incidents , absurdness and bad taste
ma-cortes6 October 2020
Below average flick about a pair of roguish men , brainless youthful and being made with no solvency. Nonsense and gross-out comedy filled with absurdity , tongue-in-cheek , sleazeness, flatulence , sexual scenes , and sillines . It results to be a nonsensicality tale starred by two slum Macarras , Isi : Santiago Segura and Disi : Florentino Fernández, members of a Hard Rock band along with Miguel Angel Rodriguez "El Sevilla" . They are idiot colleagues who are continuously making jokes and seeing lustfully the opposite sex. They are two crooks who perform songs but also rob, commit misdemeanors and cause mayhem and destruction . They were born and live in Leganes barrios and are really fans of the Australian band AC/DC , hence their names. When ISI falls in love for a young College student he will stop at nothing to get her. But they are utterly opposite in the way of being.

The film is extremely embarrassing to see because of the funny as well as silly incidents that protagonists suffer in order to seduce the girl -Jaidy Mitchell- are really disconcerting and with special mention for the end when the parachuted starring fall from a plane to Joaquín Sabina concert . It contains grotesque situations , several sex jokes , irony , chuckles and amusement . This smutty picture is an embarrassing and bottom of barrell mess, though I found myself laughing in some parts of the movie .The plot is monotonous and gross-out , with plenty of filthy set pieces , and dirty humour which will rejoice the rogue aficionados to these kinds of things . Neither the known actors , nor the filmmaking seem to be nice , and the storyline is completely a "Turkey", though it has some fun moments here and there . An awful movie exclusively for Santiago Segura enthusiasts and it had success enough at the Spanish box office . The famous duo starring Santiago Segura , Florentino Fernandez , being well accompanied by a fine support cast, such as : Jaidy Michell, Ana Risueño, Miguel Angel Rodriguez "El Sevilla" , Elia Galera , El Gran Wyoming , Eduardo Gómez, Alex Angulo, Máximo Valverde , Míriam Díaz Aroca , José Luis Coll , Manolo de Vega and especial appearance by the great singer Joaquín Sabina and band leader AC/DC Angus Young . It is followed by another bad and inferior sequel "ISI DISI , alto voltaje" by Miguel Angel de la Mata with Segura , Florentino Fernández, Kira Miró, Arevalo , El Gran Wyoming , Pilar Rubio and several others.

The motion picture produced by the great producer Andrés Vicente Gómez was lousily directed by Chema de la Peña , adding a catching musical score by the expert composer Roque Baños . Chema de la Peña is a writer , producer and director who has shot a few films as Vive por mi, Amaras sobre todas las cosas , 23 F La Película, Sud Express , Shacky Carmine and various Shorts and documentary. Rating 3,5/10 . Below average .

Average smutty comedy

Santiago Segura and Florentino Fernández star in this gross comedy that tries to follow the path of teenage comedies like "American Pie" or "Dude, where's my car?", in which a great deal of the gags are based on bodily fluids. The result is funny only intermittently, and I had the impression that I had already seen most of the gags somewhere else.

The two leading men seem to have been born to play these characters, although that is not to say a lot. I found Florentino Fernández much more convincing than Segura, but again, that doesn't mean a lot. Newcomer Jaydy Mitchell should stick to modeling or whatever she does as a day job, since hers is one of the worst debuts I have ever seen. The supporting players (Miriam Díaz Aroca, Elia Galera, José Luis Coll) deserved better roles and a better film.

In any case, "Isi/Disi" is acceptably entertaining but it offers nothing new. If you like gross gags and smutty jokes, then this is your kind of film. If not, better go and watch something else.

Spanish Wayne's World (but much much much worse!!!)

One of the worst Spanish movies ever... I guess that's explicit enough!. It is supposed to be a comedy about two heavy-metal-heads who live in a working class neighborhood near Madrid. Some kind of Spanish's "Wayne's World", but it isn't half as funny as Myer's movie (and we're not talking about one of the best comedies ever precisely). In the real life Santiago Segura is a really funny guy, but in cinema he is subject to a script, and "Isi/Disi" (fonetically AC/DC in Spanish) dialogs and situations are just pathetic. Rough humor without any sense of humor at all. The disaster is completed with a huge cast of non-actors such as Jaidy Mitchell, Florentino Fernández, "Er Sevilla", etc.

Well, at least it's been produced by Andrés Vicente Gómez, so the Ministry didn't have to give De La Peña (the director) any subsidy.

Note: It was one of the most popular films in Spain last year (!!!!).

Metal fans will feel insulted, rest will not laugh at all.

Knowing by personal experience how much is put in making a film, I have as a rule to avoid commenting those films that I feel as really bad. I understand how much money, work and illusion, so many people' illusions, are put in the making of a film to just slaugther it because I didn't like it. I'll break the rule here, because it is such a good example why Spain' cinema is in crisis nowadays.

I'll let away the stereotypes, the really bad acting (that blonde gal, please keep modeling, forget acting), the cheap 'I wanna be like Javier Fesser' way, the moronic script, and the sad view of a poet like Joaquin Sabina turned an alcoholic 'gimmethemoney' (I'll bet he's not acting). But the real problem with this movie it is simple a unfunny comedy. A sad, moronic, bad tasted comedy that simply will not make you laugh at all.

The 'funniest' gags are Ana Risueño receiving main character sperm in her face, and Miriam Diaz Aroca being sodomized. From this point, everything gets worse. You'll find smarter, best tasted and funnier gags in any Olaf Ittenbach gorefests.

So, Spanish cinema is in crisis, and need to be financed by state, I mean, by Spanish people... Why is in crisis?...it is soooo hard to compete with US blockbusters?...there's no government grants enough?...Well yes, but this is not the main problem... perhaps Spanish producers simply do not put their money on the films they produce, because state grants and TV sales pay for it, so why would they bet more money in marketing, if they can get a print and a screen, justify the grant, and keep a few grand for them and move to the next¿...or perhaps because nobody in this country knows how to edit a trailer that doesn't suck?... or perhaps the problem is simpler, and, simply, most of the Spanish cinema (with a few exceptions)sucks so deeply that nobody in his main would be tricked again in wasting money in what they call 'art', and the rest of us call a bad movie.

a crazy idea sustained becomes an acceptable yarn...

Film tells the story of two brothers over thirty, addicted to heavy metal, that live a prolonged teenage life, clad in standard heavy clothing gear including tattoos and piercings and metallic accessories, working as delivery boys for their father fish shop. One of their stops is the local university, where the youngest bro falls for an upper class, pretty, posh student. His efforts to woo her are the source for most of the film's comic effect. The idea is on paper difficult to believe but Santiago Segura and Florentino Fernandez's charisma holds the nonsense together for most of the movie. The story is kept rolling at a good pace by the director, Chema de la Peña, and the rest of the actors shuffle along without much of a role, although a few of them are allowed their moment of comic glory. Entertaining, if not too original.
