A Solid Introduction
pearseha-120 June 2006
A two-part introduction to Chaplin, from his "humble beginnings" to his fame, but little past his feature-length era, focusing on the creation of the Tramp persona and the restoration of the missing short, "Police." It has a nice custom composed soundtrack by composer Soren Hyldgaard, which is available on its own soundtrack.

A good little documentary, with good narration by Meredith, and some pictures I have never seen anywhere else, also with a restored version of the short "Police," which is the main value of this little-known, made-for-TV documentary. Nothing in here that an experienced Chaplin fan wouldn't already know, but a good watch.
