Rule of the Game, for lack of a better word, well, RULES!

SNAP! That catch your attention? GOOD. That's the idea, to get your attention. Because that's what "Rules of the Game 2003" does. It gets your attention. It starts off by twirling about you like an acrobat from Cirque De Soliel, and then takes you on a roller-coaster ride you are not likely to forget in THIS lifetime, or the next, I would wager money on.

I did NOT want this short to end. I wanted it to go on for hours, but I guess then it wouldn't have been a "short!" HAHAAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!.

--Rule of the Games #1: Expect the unexpected.

Bruce DavidSon's harrowing real portrayal of First Homicide Detective Officer Sgt. John Baker brings an almost draconian feel to director Marton Varo Jr.'s surrealistic new-wave film. Think "Bad Boys II" meets "Dancer in the Dark" and you'll know what I'm talking about. Also a delight, newcomer Evin Ellingson attacks his material with a gusto and fervor we've not seen from him for the last decade and a half.

--Rule of the Games #2: FORGET EVERYTHING YOU KNOW.

When the dust settles, "Rules of the Game 2003" will hold a place in short dramatic film history. And I will HATE to be the one who said "I told you so".

--Rule of the Games #3: You will LOVE this cinema.
