Good for a laugh with your friends.
Crazyfarts3 June 2006
Evil Aliens tells the story of a group of disreputable news unit who sets out to cover a bizarre story of alien abduction on an isolated island off the coast of Wales.

If you're into movies that just don't let up on incredibly weird scenes, this is the movie for you. You get to see some sick stuff and also some funny stuff, usually combined. You want to see a human having intercourse with an alien? You can see it here. You want to see a violent anal probe? You can see it here.

This is an independent film by Jake West, a guy who seems to have won countless number of awards for many low-budget films. The movie is handled in quite a professional manner and makes good use of obviously fake CGI. Somehow, he pulls it off so it doesn't feel so uninvited.

As the movie progresses, your face will change into many different shapes. Some of the expressions may be... "cool", "what the hell?" and "ummm, I'm going to look over here... now". All in good ways. The movies takes so many good ideas (however messed up they may be) to the extreme, they don't hold back on anything. It's good to see something refreshingly new to the screen.

Capped off with a stunningly entertaining ending, which is not common with these low-budget films. They usually seem to waste all of their money on the first half of the movie that they run out of money to complete their "great" ending. This is not the case with Evil Aliens as it is the best part of the movie.

One of the best low-budget films I've seen in a long time. Keep an eye and ear out for all of the major film references, you should find some in there. It's very consistent, and should keep you there for the full 90 minutes.

Good for a laugh with your friends.

Maybe I'll just have to stick to giallo and Japanese horror for my thrills.
christopher-underwood7 August 2006
I'm sure many will adore this and I think I am just too old for a bunch of guys and gals running around like juveniles, swearing a lot to show they are not, and endeavouring to squirt as much gooey stuff about themselves as possible. Maybe this whole anal thing never did appeal but clearly it has its fans and I cannot deny that this is well made. The effects are in the main very good, the film moves along pretty well (even if to nowhere in particular) and the action direction is excellent. There were things I liked like the combined harvester, the banana skin, the girls with guns and some of the gritty detail, but a lot was spoiled by too little attention to performance particulars. There is a fine scene where one sexy pair triumph spectacularly over a group of aliens, using all manner of farmyard implements found in the barn. At the end, however, with a stunning close up of the dishevelled female dripping blood, she is heard to utter, 'That was really awesome man' about as believably as my Gran. There is no doubt for all my reservations that Mr West is assured of a successful film career - he has a good eye, a sense of pace and a sense of humour. Maybe I'll just have to stick to giallo and Japanese horror for my thrills.

Cheap parody made with bizarre sense of humor...
JoeB13128 January 2008
Warning: Spoilers
The premise of this film is that a girl in Wales has an alien encounter and winds up pregnant. This attracts the attention of a bottom feeding "tales of the paranormal" show. A crew of misfits go out to an isolated island to film the story, only to find themselves hunted by the aliens.

Okay, I kind of get from this picture that the Welsh are the hillbillies of the United Kingdom. They go in for every backwards joke involving hygiene and bestiality here. The highlight of the film is the scene where a mob of aliens is chased down by one of the heroes driving a combine-tractor while playing a variation of "I've got a brand new pair of Roller-skates".

Beyond that, you have the usual alien probing jokes, the fecal matter jokes, the vomit jokes and just about everything else you could want in a movie that was made in very poor taste. Still, it's better than average because it is clearly winking at the viewer in the sense of a Monty Python sketch.

'so bad, its good'
peter736-119 February 2008
To be honest I knew what to expect before I watched this film, and I've got to say it has the worst acting I've ever seen. It does have its moments, and on a comedy level its very entertaining, but i'm afraid its not scary, and stupidity is taken to a new level. There's a lot of unnecessary gore, and the plot is all over the place. I have no idea why the aliens were evil, and why they even came to this remote part of wales, (i mean who'd go there anyway?) but I didn't care at that point, because I was amused by the costumes, and the bad CGI. As far as B-movies go, this deserves the title of 'being so bad, its good', and kudos to the film-makers, because they probably knew what they were doing. Long may these films continue.....

A poor homage to b-movies.
axlrhodes9 May 2008
Evil Aliens owes a huge debt to Peter Jacksons early films Bad Taste and Braindead.I must confess to never enjoying those films particularly and i say the same about this.Jake West is a director who clearly lacks inspiration of his own and chooses to steal from those whom he looks up to.I lost count of the amount of times a major Hollywood film was quoted most notably James Camerons Aliens. The amount of blood and gore on show here isn't funny either, the latter end of the film becomes tired and dragged out.Maybe it would have worked better as a short film. The actors a poor, the direction is weak and the plot is non existent.I can see what the director was trying to do,the homage he was trying to pay,but others have done the same thing a lot better than presented here. 4/10

A mediocre imitation of "Bad Taste".
fedor811 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
The cheap photography, the unfunny gags, and the overly-manic acting make for a somewhat dull horror comedy. It's obvious that West took his "inspiration" from "Bad Taste", because "E.A." was meant to have the same kind of spirit, plus the similar plot and plenty of gore. English accents and the Welsh language are also no substitute for the wonderful New Zealand accent in Peter Jacksons early films. The direction is quite manic, very MTV-like. The editing is rather wild, often clumsy. For example, in the fight scenes the humans appear to have an eternity to prepare to defend themselves from the aliens. The only scene that kind of sticks out for me is when one of the humans gets into a combine harvester and mows the aliens down while singing the "Combine Harvester Song". All in all, not the kind of movie you hate, but I've seen it all before, and much better done. The British, so good in crime, drama, and comedy, have always had a hard time making effective horror films. (I mean, not all are as bad as "Beyond Bedlam", but…)

Edd Wood is alive and making movie in the UK
marke-1130 November 2006
If film-making is an art form then this is painting by numbers! Really think of a piece of paper with little shapes on it, in the middle of each is a number which refers to a colour to paint it in. Sit a small child down with some poster paints to fill it in. Their concentration is poor so their accuracy is bad, colours run over from one shape to the other. They give up before the end or just can't be bothered to finish the piece so keen are they to move on to the next piece. Are you getting the picture? Appalling acting, cliché characters, school boy humour and sfx's on par with kids telly. I really can not begin to describe how truly awful this movie is you have been warned. The aliens costumes look like they were made by an amateur dramatics department. The lighting cuts between night and day every thirty seconds. 1 out of 10. A waste of my life.

Gore Mongral Movie Review: Evil Aliens
ChiefGoreMongral28 August 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This is it the movie that a lot of people have been hyping as the second coming of the splatter comedy genre and Id have to say that for the most part they are right!! Evil Aliens is a Splatterfest of a good time for those that are down with movies like "Bad Taste" and "Dead Alive". I feel that of all the splatter horror movies "Bad Taste" best describes what this movie is close to. So if you liked that you kind of know what you are getting into.

Anyway back to the review. Aliens have come down and "apparently" made a back hills girl pregnant. A Weekly World News style TV series has gotten wind of this and with its host (played by the delicious Emily Booth) and some other film crew and paranormal types as well as a few ham actors to spice up there performance, set out to film the girl and reenact the incident. What they do not plan on however is the Aliens returning back to cause more havoc.

Other than the intro (which gives us a truly interesting take on an anal probing) the movie may not appear to get more gory than its first sequences after the first 30 to 40 minutes in. However once it gets past its lull this movie kicks out the gore in buckets. The effects are handled very well and, for the most part, the eyesore of the movie industry,CGI, has been handled a lot better than in most major movie release..sad really as this was made with a fraction of what they have to work with!! The only parts that really didn't work well for me was the flying alien probe machines that were CGI..they just looked to computerized and didn't look right in the truck chasing sequence in the film but at least it was tolerable.

On the gore scale this movie is up there and it does take it's shots at famous horror and sci-fi movie quotes pretty deliberately and the humor is not as forced as my previous review "Cemetery Gates" however saying that, some of the humor went over my head as apparently unless your from England you may not get it. Did it detract from the movie, slightly, as I felt like the guy who just didn't get the punchline on several occasions and some of the humor in certain scenes were just not funny (one part in particular involved a UFO fanatic and his own homemade crop circle sign) However when I got it, and the humor made since, there were some funny parts and lets not forget the universal language of laughs "Splatstick" which had me laughing my sick little head at the screen on more than one occasion.

In conclusion will this movie make you forget about Jackson's Unholy Trinity of Bad Taste, Dead Alive and Meet the Feebles, No, but what it is is an example of one of the better Splatstick films you can get your hands on. There is only a few that I would rate as worthy splatter flick and this is one of them. So for my final score I give Evil Aliens a: 7/10: Good film only other Splatstick films that worked better for me are the Jackson movies and Evil Dead 2, and its dead on with Permutos. I have been hoping to have another movie added to this elite bunching and I can honestly say this will be one of them. Though some of the humor is hit and miss when it gets to the gruel it lets it fly and has a fun time doing it...Enjoy!!! Some may be waiting for the Image release of this film which is slated for a January 2007 release. If you own a Region free and Format free player, port this sucker. It has no extras save for some crappy trailers for some gay films. Also though the DVD has a widescreen version it is unfortunately not anamorphic. The movie alone however is still worth the pick up.

I bought mine from devotedvd.com however X-ploited Cinema now has this up for sale on their site, its under $20 as well. Splatter fans may do well to get this ASAP!!! Jake West I salute you!!! Until next time Pygmies remember if you fighting Aliens never turn your back as you may get a suppository the size of a tree rammed up your keaster...Close Encounter of the Third Kind Style!!! I'm Out!!!

The worst movie I've ever seen
jocke-441 February 2007
Jake West's Evil Aliens is about TV team about to make a documentary for the show Weird Worlde about what they believe is just another made up story of an alien abduction. When the team arrives they realize that the story is not made up. There really are aliens and they have not come in peace.

I don't think i have ever seen a worse movie than this one, and I've seen quite a few bad ones. The story is silly, the directing is lousy, the lights and colors are dull and boring, the characters are too stereotypical and the so called actors are really untalented.

In Evil Aliens Jake West steals ingredients from many of my favorite movies such as Bad Taste, Braindead (U.S title Dead Alive), the Evil Dead movies and George A. Romero's zombie movies but he doesn't do it good and the stolen scenes in Evil Aliens only make me want to see the original movies.

The alien masks are horribly made and look like the rubber masks that can be bought in any toy store. The only effects that are a bit better than the rest are amazingly enough the CGI renditions of the space ships.

Evil Aliens has a lot of ingredients that could make a good sci-fi horror movie; aliens, blood and gore, welsh rednecks and good looking women but Jake West doesn't manage to blend the ingredients and the result is a soup of bad acting and stolen scenes. Instead of watching Evil Aliens watch the movies mentioned above, they are a lot better.

A spectacular story of human survival in face of alien adversity
siderite6 May 2006
NOT! :) This is an English black comedy/parody movie that most resembles a combination of Signs, Alien vs Predator and Bad Taste set up in the Welsh country side. It's funny, gory and has a lot of references to other sci-fi horror movies including Evil Dead, StarGate, Night of the Living Dead and many others, but without being pushy about it. I mean, you will never see a Scary Movie type of scene when they recreate a portion of another movie in a stupid way and laugh about it.

Anyway, if you are a fan of "bad" horror movies and funny gory films like Bad Taste or Evil Dead, you will love this one. There are no known actors, they don't even have IMDb pictures, except one, Scott Joseph, who ironically wears an alien mask the whole movie :)

Peter Jackson & Sam Raimi should sue
udar5525 October 2007
I can't believe I actually read reviews where people said this was on the level of Peter Jackson's BAD TASTE and BRAIN DEAD or Sam Raimi's EVIL DEAD series. It is in a way because "director" Jake West rips them off completely. He rips off direct gags from those films while polishing his fingernails on his chest as if they were his own. For example, he has a bit where the alien pops some eyeballs out of a head and they fly across the screen into someone's open mouth. Sound familiar? That is right out of EVIL DEAD 2. I don't object to embellishing something, but a straight up steal is cheating and tacky. Not subtle references or homages, but straight up rip offs. Worst film I have seen in a long, long time. Stay away.

Funny as £@(&!
druquzdog1 March 2006
Go into this expecting a low-budget hammy stomp through the horror/sci-fi field and you won't be disappointed. Some have raised objection to the comparisons with Jacksons early work, but I can't think of anything closer in spirit with which to compare. Stylisticaly different, but with the same sense of adventure and desire to make a damn fine piece of entertainment. Evil Aliens has also been compared unfavourably to Shaun of the Dead. In this case, they are very different films. Given a choice of which to watch again, I'd have to choose Evil Aliens. I laughed more, it takes itself less seriously and it's more unique. Not that the material is original, but the execution is done with such vision and belief that the directors enthusiasm becomes contagious. Some won't like it, because at points it comes off as totally b-movie cheap. Others will see this as a plus-point. I've not seen a better horror comedy in many years! Thought there is a lot of blood thrown around and some fine effects at times, it's really not about the gore. It's the humour of the script, not the production values that shine through. That aside, there's some damn fine direction in evidence that shines mainly by being inventive but unobtrusive. Not for movie snobs, but for people who know the beauty of energetic clever trash cinema.

Two Anal Probes Up!!
ElijahCSkuggs27 July 2006
Evil Aliens May Contain Minor Spoilers

The story about a television crew; host, cameraman, sound man, two actors and a guest UFO specialist. They go off way into the countryside to investigate a supposed alien pregnancy. Turns out the chick wasn't lying about her one crazy night, and that aliens are real. They team up with the pregnant girl's family and begin to fight off the invading aliens. A lot of death follow.

Blood and gore fly all over the place in this movie. Thank God for that! Lots of limb rippin and lots of sprays to the face. I think everyone might get a blast of blood right to the eyes in this movie. Enjoyable stuff right there.

Jake West did a pretty good job setting the story up for this. It seems he knows a little about alien theories and what not. A big part of this story revolves around a supported theory. It involves the Stone Henge type boulders. You'll notice it when it happens. I enjoyed that since it hasn't been done yet. If you look into it, it's really interesting.

But obviously that is NOT the reason your watching this movie. You're watching it for the VIOLENCE. Don't worry, like I said above, there's a damn good amount. It takes a little to get the blood flowing, but when it starts it pretty much doesn't take a nap.

When it comes down to the latest type of splatter movies it ranks as the best. It blows Mucha Sangre out of the water. Consistently more funny than Plaga Zombie. And it out shined Undead in almost all categories, besides effects....close call though. I was a sucker for that smoke effect.

The movie has an extremely fun attitude and was a blast to watch. If you're into gore, blood, silly humor and aliens. You will not be disappointed.

i thought this film was one of the best films i have seen in ages... it was great..and to be honest i don't like horrors or spooky films and certainly not alien films.. but i had to watch this as my sister is one of the main characters.. but surprisingly i found myself really enjoying it... evil aliens had me laughing.. it had me jumping out of my seat oh and it definitely had me squirming in my seat at all the blood and guts.. fabulous!!!. oh and my sister well she was fabulous.. and all the other actors were too... there was some great special effects in the film. which i thought was great considering they were on a low budget. but it just goes to show. as long as you have the right type of producer like Jake west you can do anything.....i am very proud of my lickle sister.. and all the other actors i thought did a great job too....this is a film not to be missed

No words exist to adequately describe how awful this film is.
tony-howe8 November 2006
This is almost certainly the worst film I have ever paid money to see in a cinema. Nothing about it works - the humour isn't funny, the splatter gore isn't good enough, the acting is rubbish, the story is stupid, the special effects are shoddy, ...oh I could go on for ages! I'm really surprised anyone liked it - I really like cheap horror films and splatter movies, but even in this rather specialist and admittedly down-market arena, there is a definite and recognisable difference between "So bad it's good", and "Just plain bad!". I'm afraid this was seriously bad.

Whoever favourably compared this to "Shaun of the Dead" was a fool, as it's nothing like it.

Absolutely horrible
exocrine12 May 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This was one of the worst movies i've ever seen. I appreciate that you are on a low budget but there's no excuse for this kind of garbage.

It's got every kind of cliché, from the down home country folk to the sex obsessed aliens.

There's sex all over the place and really bad gore. It's about as fun as watching the Parliamentary channel while drinking a flat diet coke and waiting for your desperately needed turn in the bathroom.

The characters are all cardboard cutouts. There's the dumb hot girl, the gay guy, the nerd, the country girl, the weird country brother, the serious hot girl. When one dies you really won't care.

I would avoid this.

worst movie
stubbe_8819 June 2007
i can honestly say this is the worst movie i have ever watched! the acting was awful, and the special effects was a laugh! (not in a good way!) i've seen lots of low budget movies and many of them were quite good, but this is absolutely unwatchable. all they do for the whole movie is spilling out guts, and not in the cool way like they did in brain dead or something like that, but in the amateur way! but if you think that is disgusting, just wait till you see all the sick love scenes, it's really disgusting! it's like the only thing they thought of when making this movie, was to make people puke at the bad acting and special effects, and sick alien love scenes. but if all of that i something you like, i can strongly recommend this movie, but if not, i can strongly recommend you stay away from it. it was a living hell seeing these 90 minutes of low budget movie! you got my warning now, hope some of you is wise enough to follow it! i'm out!:P DO NOT WATCH!!! out again:P

The art of entertaining.
Kastlclan19 August 2006
When I first saw this movie I didn't expect it to be that good, only because of the look of it. But after a couple of minutes I got accustomed to the humor and the stereotype characters, and I must say I enjoyed every further minute of the movie. You really cannot expect a blockbuster movie (since it's low budget) but it much better than about 80% of the crap that is out there, produced with millions of dollars. Anyone who doesn't approve of this movies somehow didn't get the point. All the allusions to other great horror and gore movies (sometimes a bit too obvious)were really keeping me up all night. So if you're looking for a movie that makes you laugh and that includes loads of blood and guts, feel free to see that movie. Otherwise, step off!

Seriously Worst Film I Have EVER Seen
djdjt0630 October 2006
If I could I would give this a -5 rating, it is so bad I cannot describe it. Worst film I've ever seen and I've seen some bad ones.

I have never walked out of a movie and I never will, but I wish I had this time.

It is supposed to be so bad that it's funny but it goes way beyond that into terrible. Terrable acting, bad effects & jokes that enter a new level of 'oh my god how not funny is that'.

People fell asleep in the middle of the film!

It would be more fun to stick to forks in you eyes for an hour and a bit.

Bizarre, Gore, Gruesome, Insane and Very, but Very Funny
claudio_carvalho6 December 2007
The sensationalist reporter Michelle Fox (Emily Booth) presents the TV show Weird World, with phony matters about UFOS and aliens. When she hears about Cat (Jennifer Evans), a young woman that claims that have been abducted with her boyfriend and become pregnant by aliens, she convinces her chief to travel with a team to the remote Welsh island of Scalled to interview Cat. She invites the cameraman Ricky Anderson (Samuel Butler) with his sound technician partner; the nerd expert in "ufology" and "ley lines" Gavin Gorman (Jamie Honeybourne); the actress Candy Vixen (Jodie Shaw) and an obscure gay actor to prepare the matter. They get a van and wait for the low tide to reach the island, and when they find evidences that aliens are really landed in the location, the ambitious Michelle decides to film her way to fame and wealth.

"Evil Alien" is bizarre, gore, gruesome, insane and very, but very funny. The bloody story follows the style of Peter Jackson's "Bad Taste" and "Braindead", especially with Ricky attacking the aliens with the harvesting (or grinding?) machine. There are hilarious moments, like Gavin having intercourse with an alien, of the Cat's brothers speaking Welsh language. In my opinion, this grotesque movie has a great potential of cult-movie. My vote is seven.

Title (Brazil): "Evil Alien – Um Novo Contato") ("Evil Alien – A New Contact")

Coming soon to a bargain bin near you.
death_slayer_of_worlds30 January 2006
This film was made on a budget but, as far as I know, writing talent doesn't cost a penny. This film is meant to be a horror spoof but fails in every area, as it's not funny or scary. It tries to make up for this by putting in over the top gore and violence but frankly it just comes across as totally forced.

The one moment of genius comes via the admittedly hilarious combine harvester scene, but even that will mean little to anyone outside of the UK and certainly isn't enough to redeem the rest of this dire offering. Everything here has been done before to a much higher standard and the script and acting is nowhere near good enough considering the comparisons this film is getting to much better fare.

I find it insulting that this has been compared to the FAR superior Shaun of the Dead as it isn't in the same league. Avoid at all costs.

You will never see a film like this again
jo-17119 May 2005
About thirty seconds into the film you'll find yourself with your jaw dropped somewhere down to around about your knees as it opens with a sequence so hideously disgusting you can't quite believe you are really seeing what you are seeing. Comparisons will doubtless be made between this film and Shaun of the Dead and also Peter Jackson's Brain Dead / Bad Taste neither really took things to such a painfully funny - quite beyond belief - level that this film does. Whilst the film will always be remembered (rightfully so) for the combine harvester scene - which is truly hilarious - it is so much more than an individual collection of gross out sketches - it is a wonderfully silly but engrossing yarn that doesn't let you go from the very first moment to the last, with visual effects - both prosthetic and CGI that quite literally first rate. Watch it – be amazed – be offended – be thankful that the British film industry has some balls in it yet

Reminded me a lot of Braindead - but SCI FI!
justinhraymond18 April 2006
Warning: Spoilers
*SPOILERS GALORE*

I have to say I enjoyed the film a great deal. Overall the special effects were good - I also liked the idea that stones circles were being used as landing pads (reference to star gate) I did hope that the aliens would look a bit more alien, but I can understand that a lot of the money must have gone on the CGI and gore effects so there had to be some compromise. I hope that the director continues with this kind of genre and slaps out some more of these kinda films.

I did think a few of the characters were a bit cheesy - namely the mad welsh lass that had the alien baby inside her, she was good up the the point of the alien climbing out of her body - then she seemed to just run around loony tunes, her family started out a bit cheesy - but I kinda warmed to them later when they battled the "Evil Aliens" it was nice to see a love interest in one of the funniest and strangest combinations of couples trapped together.

*************************** Most enjoyable moments **** ***************************

Character actor getting crucified up his ass! - has to be the best special effect I have seen in a long time!

Combine harvester - bits of bodies flying everywhere - looked a lot better than i thought it might!

head on a stick - literally!

************************ Most Cheesy moments **** ************************

Alien slipping on a banana. (bit too cheesy for my liking)

Woman getting her legs ripped off (sorry but you could SO tell she was laying on the floor with half her body under the floor!)

This film definitely has repeat viewing value - good thing to as its movie night tomorrow and guess whats on :)

I have been robbed of an evening of my life!
clare-egan28 February 2006
Warning: Spoilers
What absolute drivel! I saw at least 12 people walk out of the cinema during the film and the only reason I stayed was because I hadn't finished my popcorn. The acting sucks and the story sucks. I found it embarrassing to be British. Shaun of the Dead was clever and witty -this film was just shameful!

It all started quite well - the gory alien abduction scenes and particularly the anal probing!!! The jokes however later got lost somewhere between the terrible "acting" and lack of plot! I will give it credit however for the combine harvester scene which made me slightly chuckle, however for a 90 minute film to have 2 minutes of humour, this does not constitute a comedy.

Save your money and time and just watch Shaun of the Dead again - it totally outclasses this piece of rubbish!
