Fast National ratings for Sunday, January 4, 2015. The last 55 minutes of a tight and controversial Wild Card game between the Cowboys and Lions spilled into Sunday primetime and proved huge enough to push Fox to a dominant performance in all measures, also giving big boosts to "The Simpsons," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "Family Guy" and "Bob's Burgers." Numbers for Fox are, of course, tentative and subject to change. With new programming returning on Sunday after holiday breaks, there were a slew of notables, including a very strong return for NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" and good NFL-free audiences for "Madam Secretary" and "The Good Wife." ABC's fairy tale musical-comedy "Galavant" got off to an encouraging start on its own, though it was unable to serve as any kind of lead-in for "Resurrection" and "Revenge." On to the numbers... Among adults 18-49, Fox averaged a 6.2 rating for Sunday night, tops in the key demographic. NBC was...

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including Revenge, Sons of Anarchy, Forever and Bones!

Word to the wise: don’t bicker while on the job.
Because as Chicago P.D.‘s winter finale on Wednesday night demonstrated, if you do, you won’t be prepared for what’s about to hit you. Or in the case of this episode, what’s about to strike your partner.

For the first time in the show's history, The Voice had a Wild Card round this week where all of the eliminated contestants from the Top 12 came back to perform for a final chance to make the finals.
Usually, during results shows, the final result is not known until literally the last few seconds. But on Tuesday night, they moved it up to the very start (with Chris Jamison, Craig Wayne Boyde and Matt McAndrew advancing) so they could fit nine Wild Card performances into less than an hour. It was a packed night, but they managed to get through everybody in time.

You can’t accuse NBC of underestimating the power of cross-promotional synergy.
With The Voice rocking the 18-49 demo and its venerable Today struggling to get out of No. 2 in the morning-show ratings, the Peacock net made a bold move with its reality-singing juggernaut’s semifinal results telecast: Nope, you won’t know identity of the fourth and final Season 7 finalist unless you wake up with Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie and that collection of other folks who use international news as the aoli in a pop-culture and cooking-segments sandwich.

We're getting down to the wire here in season 7 of The Voice. Tonight, we'll meet our Top 3 artists from the Top 5. Damien, Craig Wayne Boyd, Taylor John Williams, Matt McAndrew and Chris Jamison are all anxiously waiting to see if they made it. Who will be in the Top 3? My guess? Matt McAndrew and Craig Wayne Boyd will definitely be in the Top 3. I'm a little unsure who the last one will be, but Dean Bextor predicts that Chris Jamison will be in there too. I really like Taylor John Williams, though, but there's always the Wild Card spot.
Also tonight, eliminated contestants from the Top 12 will battle it out for the coveted fourth spot. Who do you think will claim the Wild Card spot?...

After being introduced to Dana Fredsti’s take on the zombie apocalypse last year in the form of Plague Town and Plague Nation (read my review here), I’ve been looking forward to the concluding part of the trilogy and I’m happy to report that I haven’t been disappointed.
Picking up right where Plague Nation left off, our heroine Ashley Parker is plunged straight into a battle with the undead, Fredsti launching into her trademark breakneck pace that doesn’t let up until the end of the book. As the title suggests, the zombie plague has progressed from its initial outbreak in Redwood Grove (a la Racoon City), via the whole of America, and now to the rest of the world, having finally gone airborne.
Ashley’s story is focused on San Francisco, where she and the rest of her Wild Card team – people who have survived zombie...

This weekend’s Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa opened on a serious note and it proved to be a turning point for the existing contestants of the show. Saturday’s show opened with rehearsal footage of existing contestants. All the contestants were called on stage and the two unsafe contestants who would be in the face-off this week, would be announced.
Sreesanth and Puja were the two unsafe contestants. Puja was disappointed to be in the face-off once again.
For the first time, the face-off happened at the beginning of the show. Puja and Rajat were the first to perform. Their chosen dance style was Freestyle, and they performed to the song ‘Teri Meri Prem Kahani’ from Bodyguard. Their prop was a picture frame. All the acts would be featuring a prop this week as this was the theme. As always, Puja’s scores were saved and would be revealed after Sreesanth performed.

Here we are, Idol fans. The moment is finally upon us. Who will win season 13 of American Idol? On one side, we've got the Wild Card. On the other, the wild child. At least, that's how the show described this match-up last night.
Caleb Johnson and Jena Irene took to the stage for the final time before America voted for the winner. Simon Fuller was in the house to watch the contestants perform songs he chose. Caleb and Jena also reprised their best performances of the season. (While that was the case with Jena, Caleb should have gone with "Skyfall.") And then of course they performed the winner's single.

When it comes to motor bike racing I tend to think of Superbikes and Motor Gp, I’ve even played some of the games, though not for many years. When loading up Mxgp and making my way through the menu system to get to an actual race I knew that the races would be muddy and full of jumping in the air, and in a way that is the perfect way to start the game. The problem with this though is the complexities of racing on tracks that appear to want you to crash spectacularly, in bone crushing ways!
That’s not to say that Mxgp is a hard game to control, you just have to get used to how the bike handles, how your rider applies his weight to the bike and all of your opponents who are flying through the air at the same time. Playing on the...

The NFL regular-season schedule comes out tomorrow, but we already know something big about the postseason. The league said today that Espn will air a wild card game during the first weekend of the playoffs in early January. The milestone game will mark the first postseason NFL game on pay TV — and should draw astronomical ratings for the cable universe. Last season’s wild card weekend was a goldmine for NBC, CBS and especially Fox, whose 49ers-Packers contest was the most-watched wild card game on any network since the Reagan administration with 47.1 million viewers. Even that weekend’s lowest-rated game — in which the Colts erased a four-touchdown deficit to stun the Chiefs — drew 27.6 million. But that’s more than the largest cable TV audience ever: the 2011 Auburn-Oregon college football title game, which pulled in 27.3 million viewers for Espn. The sports network, which carries Monday Night Football games, signed an eight-year...

Espn will televise a National Football League Wild Card contest during the 2014 season — the first NFL Playoff game in the cable channel's 35-year history. Additionally, NBC will add a Divisional Playoff game this coming postseason and each year through 2022. The NFL and Espn had reached a new eight-year extension for “Monday Night Football” and broad studio, multimedia and international rights in 2011. The agreement — which began this spring and extends through the 2021 NFL season — provided the NFL with an option to air a postseason Wild Card playoff game on Espn, which the NFL opted...

We didn’t get a chance to look at the first part of the Season Six premiere (you can see it here if you want to catch up), but this season of RuPaul’s Drag Race is looking too good to ignore.
Ru decided to shake things up this year by dividing the premiere into two parts, with seven queens introduced last week (Kelly Mantle was eliminated), and seven more this week. Also of note – No more immunity!
Let’s take a closer look at this week’s Dolls.
Bianca Del Rio
Strengths: Smart, sharp, biting
Weaknesses: Self-Proclaimed Clown. Can she glam it up enough?
Winning Potential: Definitely could be in final three, but can come off as cold and aloof.
Trinity K. Bonet
Strengths: “I’m as close as you’re gonna get to Beyonce”
Weaknesses: “I’m as close as you’re gonna get to Beyonce”
Winning Potential: Looks unseasoned,...

Chicago – Get your scorecards and pencils out, because this is the last stop you’ll need for all your 2014 Academy Award predicting needs…except for the 10 million other media outlets in the age of information. Two HollywoodChicago.com veterans – Brian Tallerico and Patrick McDonald – plus our contributors Nick Allen, David J. Fowlie and David Canfield, all will be predicting Sunday’s big film night, all while debating which tuxedo host Ellen DeGeneres should wear. The crew will opine on Best Picture, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor/Actress, Director and Screenplays (Original and Adapted). As in previous years, the prognostications are broken down into thoughts on who Will Win, Should Win and Should Have Been Nominated (for one last gasp of dissent). Kristen O'Connor knew when Ryan Seacrest announced she'd gotten the least amount of votes of the "American Idol" Season 13 Top 13 finalists that she was going home.
"I didn't expect a save because they've already used the Wild Card on me and it is the first week of the finals," O'Connor tells Zap2it and a small group of reporters backstage after the Top 13 results show. "I think we all knew that no matter who it was, they probably weren't going to save them. I knew especially for me it wasn't going to happen no matter how good the performance was. So I just knew I wanted to go out with a bang and I was proud of the performance I gave."
O'Connor kept it together on TV, but after the show she had trouble holding back her tears. "I am going to take so much away," she says before pausing to regain her composure.

This week on American Idol, the Top 13 performed songs that define them as both artists and as people in a theme called "This is Me." Did our current batch of contestants step up and show who they are and who they want to be post-Idol? As always, some did and others floundered.
Heading into tonight's results show, we have a few questions to consider: is there room for more than one male country singer? Did M.K. Nobilette bring the "Satisfaction" and live up to the hype? Will any of last week's three Wild Card picks avoid the Bottom 3? And will tonight's elimination be an easy call?...

If you've checked out my earlier post, you've already seen my interviews with the six guys in the "American Idol" Top 13. After the judges gave two of their Wild Card slots to women, though, the girls took a 7-to-6 advantage going into the Top 13, meaning that that all-female alliance should be able to Pagong the men. Wait. Wrong Wednesday reality show. Sorry. Anyway, last Thursday, I caught up with all of the Season 13 "Idol" finalists. Click through for interviews with the seven remaining women. Above, you'll see my interview with M.K. Nobilette, who discusses her rave reviews from the judges last week, as well as her frank discussion of her sexuality and her love of backwards baseball caps. Then, below, you've got Jessica Meuse, who talks about the way she was depicted in the "Idol" Hollywood Week episodes and what the Group Night experience taught her about pressure. video...

This week of nervous performances and shy interviews has been sort of fun, but now, following the announcement of the Top 13, comes the real American Idol: months of live performances where assured talents shine while singing some of the most dated song choices ever. Will we get another Leiber and Stoller week? I must know!
Let’s rank this year’s competitors from worst to first, shall we? But before we get to that: Did anyone notice that Emmanuel Zidor did not even flinch or reach out in congratulations when Spencer Lloyd was announced as a potential wild card pick for the Top 13? It was Shady and I #gotmylife from it. Made me wonder if Lloyd, the much-touted “worship leader,” is a bit of a homophobe. Zidor did not look like he wanted to look at that guy. Any other theories out there? Emmanuel, if you’re out there,...

When it comes to Thursday (February 20) night's "American Idol" results, I'm not confident on much. I know who I thought gave the best performances between the Top 15 Girls on Tuesday and the Top 15 Boys on Wednesday, but I don't know how America will respond. I'm using a picture of Mk Nobilette with my recap because I'm sure that even if America didn't love her, the judges will use a Wild Card for her. Beyond that? Well, let's see who makes the season's Top 13. Then I'm gonna go out and interview them. 7:58 p.m. Et. I don't know what format this episode will take, so I'll be playing it by ear. Hopefully things won't get sloppy. 8:00 p.m. We're starting my listing all 20 of the remaining contenders. That's a lot. And then? On to a recap of last night's performances from the guys. They weren't all great, but they...

Erin Andrews' tongue proved to be a very important topic of conversation during Fox's NFL coverage on Sunday, Jan. 6. Host Curt Menefee joked with the sports reporter about having A Christmas Story moment as she braved the cold during the San Francisco 49ers Wild Card game against the Green Bay Packers. "Randall Cobb is back and so too to this show is our own Erin Andrews who, using your 'Christmas Story' reference, hopefully hasn't been licking the goal post in between. Your tongue working right now?" Menefee asked while laughing. "So far so good," Andrews replied. "But I anticipate sounding like Flick from A Christmas Story." But this wasn't the...

We already knew the teaming of Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake was ratings gold for SNL and NBC. The December 21st edition of Fallon-hosted Saturday Night Live with musical guest Timberlake generated the show’s biggest increase ever in adults 18-49, according to Nielsen. It also saw the biggest gain in total viewers going from Live+Sd ratings to Live+7. In 18-49, the broadcast grew by 1.8 rating points to a 5.5 rating (up from 3.7). In total viewers, the increase was 3.7 million, to 13.1 million (up from 9.4 million). These are SNL’s best L+7 results in three years, since the January 8, 2011 edition with host Jim Carrey and musical guest The Black Keys, (5.79 in 18-49, 13.1 million viewers overall), which followed an NFL Wild Card overrun. Update, 12:30 Pm: Fox‘s coverage of the Nfc Wild Card game between the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers drew 47.1 million viewers and a 25.8/41 household rating Sunday. That makes the matchup in frigid-cold Green Bay – won by the Niners on a last-season field goal — the highest-rated NFL Wild Card playoff game on any network since at least 1988. The game was up 20% in ratings and 24% in viewers compared with last year’s late Sunday matchup between Seattle and Washington (21.5/36, 38.1 million viewers), and is the highest-rated and most-watched telecast of any kind since last year’s Super Bowl. Previous, 11:31 Am: The NFL’s season is raking in big ratings in the home stretch, with both NBC and CBS posting gains with wild card game coverage this weekend. Somehow between the cold weather and football pandemonium, Erin Andrews' tongue became the highlight of Fox's NFL coverage Sunday night. Curt Menefee joked with the blond beauty about having A Christmas Story moment as she braved the cold during the San Francisco 49ers Wild Card game against the Green Bay Packers. Andrews was on the field wearing a heavy winter coat, scarf and thick gloves in an effort to keep herself as warm as possible during her reporting. So when Menefee referenced the popular holiday flick from the warmth of the Fox studio, Andrews had the perfect response. "Randall Cobb is back and so too to this show is our own Erin Andrews who, using your 'Christmas...
