This is a very good two-reel production concerning an old man who was too strict with his children, a boy and a girl. Both almost going to the bad in a scrape with a gambler teaches the father that too much strictness does not pay. The story is interestingly presented and holds the interest from the beginning. It is perhaps a little drawn out in places, but on the whole the film is a commendable one. - The Moving Picture World, January 3, 1914
